FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Adelphi with League-Best Eight Selections to All-Conference Teams.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Following a season where it clinched a share of the regular season championship for the first time since 2009, Stonehill women's lacrosse grabbed a league-high three major awards to highlight the Northeast-10 Conference's announcement of All-Conference honors on Thursday.

Stonehill's Lydia Rudden and Emma Sullivan earned Attacker and Midfielder of the Year, respectively, while Katie Conover was tabbed Coach of the Year, leading the Skyhawks to the No. 1 seed in the NE10 Women's Lacrosse Championship.

New Haven took home a pair of major awards, as Gabby Buscemi was named Goalkeeper of the Year and freshman standout Raegan Bailey earned Rookie of the Year. Adelphi's Kailey Broderick, the key cog in the Panthers securing one of Division II's best defenses, was selected as Defensive Player of the Year.

Adelphi – the top-ranked team in the final NCAA East Region rankings - had the most All-Conference selections among NE10 teams with eight, while Stonehill was second with seven. Stonehill tied with Le Moyne for the most First Team picks with three each. For a complete list of All-Conference honorees, please see below.

Rudden, the top scorer in the NE10 this season, ranked first in both assists (63) and points (98) during the regular season – including in conference play (51 assists, 79 points). She ranks second nationally in assists per game (3.81) and tied for fifth in points per game (6.00). Rudden was twice named the IWLCA Division II National Offensive Player of the Week and was a four-time NE10 Player of the Week. She becomes the first Stonehill player to win Attacker (formerly Player) of the Year since Michelle Kelly in 2008.

Sullivan served as another weapon in Stonehill's offense, earning Midfielder of the Year for the second-straight season after a remarkable performance that saw her rank third in points (71), second in goals (57), first in ground balls (63), first in draw controls (116) and first in caused turnovers (39). She also tied New Haven's Bailey for the most goals scored against NE10 opponents (45). Sullivan won NE10 weekly honors on six occasions. In 2021, Sullivan was named Northeast Division Midfielder of the Year when major awards were broken up divisionally.

Broderick was a standout in Adelphi's defense, which ranks fifth nationally in goals allowed per game (5.81), on her way to earning Defensive Player of the Year. She tied for third among NE10 players in caused turnovers (27) and tied for seventh in ground balls (37), with the Panthers as a team allowing 10 or more goals in only two contests this season. Broderick is the first Adelphi player to win the honor since Ryley Weber in 2017 and was also a First Team selection on defense.

In a crowded field of high-performing goalkeepers, New Haven's Buscemi stood out among the rest to win Goalkeeper of the Year and a First Team selection. Buscemi is the league leader in saves (183) and save percentage (48.5) following the regular season, which includes 139 saves and a 47.1 save percentage in conference games. She recorded double-digit saves in 10 games this season, including 12 saves in an upset win over Le Moyne on March 30. Buscemi is the first New Haven goalkeeper to receive this award since Maureen Spellman in 2009.

Bailey, one of the most potent scoring threats in the NE10, joined her teammate Buscemi on the list of major award winners by taking home Rookie of the Year honors. She led all NE10 players in goals scored (62) this season, as well as tied for first in goals against conference opponents (45). Bailey tied for ninth in points (49) and had multiple goals in 15 of 17 games, including a season-high six on four occasions.

Stonehill's Katie Conover earned Coach of the Year after leading the Skyhawks to a 12-1 conference record and a share of the NE10 regular season championship. Beginning the season unranked, Conover's program ended the regular season at No. 8 in the ILWomen/IWLCA national poll, following upset wins over perennial powerhouses Le Moyne and Adelphi. It was the first regular season title for Stonehill since 2009, helping the program reach the No. 2 seed in the final release of the NCAA East Region rankings.
