NE10 Player of the Week
Jordan Butters, Southern New Hampshire
Senior | Forward | Beverly, Mass.
Butters registered four points on a goal and two assists during a 2-0-0 week for the Penmen. Butters assisted on a back-breaker of a goal that made it 2-0 just 30 seconds before halftime in Wednesday's eventual 3-0 win over Daemen University. She then notched a goal and a helper in Saturday's 3-1 win versus Assumption University. Butters opened the scoring with a goal in the 38th minute and then helped set up the strike that all but sealed it in the 81st minute.
NE10 Defensive Player of the Week
Ai Inoue, Southern New Hampshire
Graduate Student | Back | Tokyo, Japan
Inoue anchored a Penmen backline that allowed just one goal during a 2-0-0 week. SNHU outscored its two opponents, 6-1, and outshot them, 39-11, including 18-8 in shots on target. Assumption's 51st-minute goal was the first SNHU had allowed in five games to begin the year, snapping the scoreless streak at 411:39.
NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week
Abigail Allen, So. Connecticut
Senior | Goalkeeper | Orange, Conn.
Allen pushed her consecutive scoreless minute's streak to 372:47 with back-to-back shutouts for the week to give her four-straight clean sheets. Allen stopped both shots on goal in the Owls 1-0 win at Pace on Sept. 13 before blanking the No. 2 team in the country, College of Saint Rose, with nine saves against the Golden Knights.
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Mollie Cahalane, Franklin Pierce
Freshman | Forward | Merrimac, Mass.
In Franklin Pierce's only game last week, Cahalane scored the opener in the 65th minute, which stood as the game-winner, in a 2-0 win at home over Saint Anselm.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Brooke Jones, Bentley (Sr., M/F - Duxbury, Mass.)
Jones had one goal and one assist in two games for Bentley last week. She scored against Assumption in a home game on Sept. 14. In the team's 3-0 Senior Night win over New Haven on Saturday, she provided the primary assist on the opening goal to send the Falcons on their way to the win.
Emilie Fox, Franklin Pierce (So., GK - Bridgewater, Mass.)
Fox played the second half of Franklin Pierce's only game last week, a 2-0 win at home over Saint Anselm on Wednesday night. She made four saves to finish off the shutout and was credited with the win.
Aino Martikainen, Franklin Pierce (Jr., B - Järvenpää, Finland)
From the middle of the back line, Martikainen keyed a defensive effort which shut out Saint Anselm and held the Hawks to just eight shots (five on goal) in a 2-0 win at home on Wednesday night, the Ravens' only game of the week. At the other end of the field, attempted three shots, including one on goal.
Emma Hudson, Saint Anselm (Fr., GK - Kingston, Mass.)
Hudson made 10 saves for the Hawks across a 1-1 week, helping the Hawks to a 3-1 victory over Le Moyne last time out.
Katie Escobedo, Saint Michael's (Sr., GK - New Rochelle, N.Y.)
Escobedo posted a 0.50 GAA and an .889 save percentage against a pair of regional powers last week. In a scoreless tie on Wednesday with Saint Rose, which was ranked second in the nation, Escobedo had five saves, with the Golden Knights being held scoreless for the first time in 16 games. She made three more stops on Saturday at regionally-ranked Adelphi during a 1-0 loss, helping limit an offense that entered the day 10th in Division II in scoring (3.2).
Paulina Valentine, Saint Michael's (Sr., B - New Hyde Park, N.Y.)
Valentine anchored a defense that allowed only one goal against a pair of regional powers last week. The Purple Knights played to a scoreless tie on Wednesday with Saint Rose, which was ranked second in the nation, allowing only seven shots as the Golden Knights were blanked for the first time in 16 games. On Saturday, Saint Michael's lost to regionally-ranked Adelphi, 1-0, limiting an offense that entered the day ranked 10th in Division II in scoring average (3.2). Valentine, who played all 180 minutes during the week, helped the Purple Knights allow just 9.0 shots per game, including 5.0 on goal.
Pia Bozic, Saint Rose (So., GK - Kamnik, Slovenia)
Bozic did not allow a goal as the Golden Knights played to 0-0 draws at Saint Michael's and Southern Connecticut State. Bozic recorded three saves in each of those contests.
Claudia Keith, Southern N.H. (Fr., GK - Danvers, Mass.)
In her first collegiate start, Keith stopped all four shots she faced in Wednesday's 4-0 shutout of Daemen.
