Saint Rose’s Mia Klammer Highlights 19 NE10 Women’s Soccer Players to Earn All-Region Honors

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Saint Rose's Mia Klammer was selected as the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) East Region Player of the Year, as 19 women's soccer players from the Northeast-10 Conference earned All-Region honors from the D2CCA and United Soccer Coaches following the 2022 season.

Saint Rose, the three-time reigning NE10 champion, had a league-high six selections – including five players on First Team All-Region. Franklin Pierce, a co-regular season champion and NCAA quarterfinalist, and Adelphi tied with four players earning All-Region recognition.

Six different players earned First Team nods for both the D2CCA and United Soccer Coaches, including Pia Bozic, the NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year, as one of four players from Saint Rose. Adelphi's Madison Apicella, the NE10 Player and Rookie of the Year, and Franklin Pierce's Aino Martikainen, the NE10 Defensive Player of the Year, also won the distinction.

Overall, eight NE10 players were named to the All-Region teams from both organizations. Bentley, Pace, Saint Anselm, Southern Connecticut and Southern New Hampshire all had one player selected.

Founded in 1941 and based in Kansas City, Mo., United Soccer Coaches has grown into the world's largest soccer coaches' organization that serves members at every level of the game. United Soccer Coaches works every day to inspire coaches and ignite their passion for the game so they pass it on to players and others in the soccer community.

The D2CCA encourages and promotes DII athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact DII intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA DII member colleges and universities.
