Strong Final Round Helps Greyhounds Run Away with League Title.

CONCORD, N.H. – For the second time in three years, Assumption has claimed the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Golf Championship – and it did so in dominant fashion on Wednesday – claiming its second league title in program history at the Concord Country Club.

Assumption finished the second round of the Championship with a team score of 19-over (579), an impressive 15 shots ahead of runner-up and defending champion Le Moyne (+34, 594). The Greyhounds last won the league title in 2019. The Dolphins, meanwhile, edged Championship host Southern New Hampshire (+35, 595) by one stroke to place second.

All five Assumption golfers finished in the top 10 on the individual leaderboard, including sophomore Sean Magarian, who carded a +4 (71-73—144) and finished second. Teammates Ryan Fillebrown and Lucas Roop were one shot behind at +5, while Mitchell Tarrio finished eighth at +6 and Jack Moy tied for 10th at +8.

Southern New Hampshire junior Jeff Liss claimed the Gordon McCullough Memorial Award for individual medalist honors, finishing the Championship with a +1 (68-73—141) – which included a league-best round of 68 on Tuesday. He becomes the first Penmen since Matt Paradis in 2018 to earn medalist honors at the NE10 Championship.

The All-Championship Team consisted of seven players – including Liss, Magarian, Fillebrown and Roop, as well as Le Moyne's Spencer Baum and Tyler Birdd and SNHU's AJ Cavotta. Each All-Championship Team member shots +5 or better this week in Concord.

Following the first round on Tuesday, Assumption had a four-stroke lead over Le Moyne. Wednesday's final round saw that gap grow to 15 strokes, as each Greyhounds' golfer shot a 74 or better to outpace the rest of the league on its way to the title.

American International sophomore Jarred Huggins was named the Elite 24 Award winner, after recording a 3.966 GPA as an accounting major. The Elite 24 honors the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at the finals site of each NE10 Championship.
