Week 4 - April 5, 2021

NE10 Player of the Week

Briana Ryan, Pace
Senior | INF | Wilmington, Calif.

Ryan put together a dominant stretch at the plate during the Setters' sweep of Saint Rose on Saturday. The California native went 5-for-7 with four RBIs and three runs scored. Four of Ryan's hits went for extra bases as she finished the day with three doubles and a triple for a 1.429 slugging percentage. 


NE10 Pitcher of the Week

Morgan Perry, Saint Anselm
Senior | Pitcher | Bethany, Conn.

Perry fanned a career-high 17 strikeouts in her game one victory, setting the program's single-game strikeout mark. Perry opened the first game by striking out the first five of seven batters in the first two innings. Neither team was able to find the offense in the opening three innings until the Hawks scored in the fourth inning. Perry would close the contest with four strikeouts, securing the Hawks 3-0 win. Perry allowed five hits over a full seven innings pitched, earning her third win of the season. Over three appearances, Perry has struck out 48 batters, ranking in the top three spots in the NE10, and has not yielded a single run in those contests. Perry also tied for the lead in the NE10 with the lowest ERA with 0.00 along with her teammate McKenna Smith.


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Kaylee Mankins, Bentley
So. | First Base | North Attleboro, Mass.

In two doubleheaders, Mankins achieved a slash mark of .500/.500/1.071 while making a couple dents on the Bentley record book. In the Falcons? game one 8-0 win at Stonehill, she became the first player in program history to homer twice in a game and tied the single game school record with 10 total bases. She finished the week 7-for-14 with two doubles, two homers, four runs scored, six RBI and a 1.000 fielding percentage on 24 chances.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Ally Muller, Adelphi (Sr., P, Hopewell Junction, N.Y.)
Ally threw a her second shutout of the season in Adelphi's 9-0 win over New Haven on Saturday. Muller faced 18 batters and struck out eight while allowing just three hits without a walkin 5 IP. Muller improved to 4-2 on the season from inside the circle. 

Emily Whitman, Adelphi (Jr., Util, Port Jefferson, N.Y.)
Emily hit her first home run of the season on Saturday during Adelphi's 9-0 win over New Haven and went went 3-for-3 and three runs scored. Emily went 3-for-6 on the weekend with one single, one triple and one home run. She had a .500 batting average and 1.333 slugging percentage.

Alyssa Beaton, Assumption (Sr., SS, Smithfield, R.I)
Beaton led the Hounds at the plate this weekend. She went 3-for-7 over two games played. Her three hits consisted of one double, one triple and one homerun. Beaton finished the weekend batting .429 with two RBIs.

Ashley Cangiano, Franklin Pierce (Fr., UT, North Attleboro, Mass.)
Ashley Cangiano started and played in both games for the Ravens this past weekend. The freshman was 4-for-7 (.571) at the plate with two RBI and two runs scored. In the Ravens 9-3 game one win, Cangiano was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. She followed that up going 2-for-3 with a run scored in the 3-2 game two Raven victory.

Cyrenea Zemaitis, Franklin Pierce (Sr., P, Goshen, Conn.)
Cyrena Zemaitis started in one game in the circle for the Ravens this past week. The senior ace threw her third complete game of the season notching her 13th career double-digit strikeout game punching out 12 batters allowing only four hits, and two unearned run in a 3-2 Raven victory. The win was her fifth of the campaign which leads the NE10 and Zemaitis also ranks first in the league in wins (5) & strikeouts (50), second in K/7 (12.96), and third in ERA (0.26).

Laura Bennett, Le Moyne (Fr., P, Corning, N.Y.)
She went 2-0 with a 1.62 earned run average and 18 strikeouts in Le Moyne's 3-1 week. She struck out 11 batters and scattered five hits in an 11-3 win over American International on Saturday. She posted seven strikeouts and allowed just five hits and two unearned runs in a 3-2 win over the Yellow Jackets on Sunday.

Dominique Russo, Le Moyne (So., OF, Hopewell Junction, N.Y.)
She slashed .500/.571/.500 with four runs scored, three stolen bases and an RBI in Le Moyne's 3-1 week. She went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in an 11-3 win over American International on Saturday. She was 4-for-4 with a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in a 7-5 win over AIC on Sunday.

Ava Fitzmaurice, New Haven (Jr., P, Greenville, N.Y.)
Fitzmaurice threw a complete game, her fourth of the season, as she scored her fourth victory (4-0 overall) on the year in a 7-2 win over Adelphi to split the Saturday afternoon doubleheader. The junior pitcher surrendered two runs, neither of which was earned as she allowed four hits to the Panthers. At the plate, she also added one hit on the day to go along with two walks, one of those leading to a single RBI as she helped add to her teams offense.

Anna Acevedo, Pace (Fr., P, Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Acevedo put together a pair of strong pitching outings for Pace last week. The rookie Setter allowed just three earned runs across 12.1 innings of work (1.70 ERA). She was especially impressive on Saturday, scattering just four hits and one run in a complete-game win against Saint Rose.

Lauren Washburn, Saint Anselm (Sr., 3B, Carmichael, Calif.)
Washburn showed up on Saturday, leading the team with a strong performance against Bentley as the Hawks blanked the Falcons, 3-0 and 7-0. In game two, Washburn posted a career-high four hits and two runs batted in to lead the Hawks offense. In the first contest of the doubleheader, Washburn had two runs batted in. She finished the season with six hits, four RBIs, and a .750 batting average, along with five assists. 

Ciana Phillips, Saint Rose (So., OF, Albany, N.Y.)
Phillips slashed .667 (4-for-6)/.714/.833 in Saturday's doubleheader at Pace. The sophomore outfielder had a double and a run scored as the Golden Knights fell in both contests.

Michelle Theilgard, Stonehill (Sr., C/INF, North Branford, Conn.)
Theilgard led the Skyhawks this week with a .571 batting average, as she went 4-for-7 at the plate. She scored twice and drove in 2 RBI, as she recorded her second double and second homerun of the season against Bentley University. Stonehill dropped two games to the Falcons, 8-6 in 8 innings, and 8-0 in 5 innings. Behind the plate, Theilgard made no errors with 6 putouts.
