Week 5 - April 12, 2021

NE10 Player of the Week

Emily Whitman, Adelphi
Senior | Util. | Port Jefferson, N.Y.

Whitman was essential in Adelphi's 4-0 week to stay at the top of the Southwest standings. She went 7-for-12 at the plate, with one double and one triple for a line of .583/.667/.833. She also scored six runs and stole a base to help the offense. She at least one hit in all four games and three multi-hit contests, highlighted by her 2-for-2  performance with three runs and a walk in an 8-2 win over AIC. 


NE10 Pitcher of the Week

Ally Muller, Adelphi
Senior | Pitcher | Hopewell Junction, N.Y.

Muller went 3-0 last week as she pitched 19 innings, totaling 25 strikeouts with just seven total hits allowed.. She claimed both wins of Adelphi's doubleheader against New Haven on Monday throwing back-to-back shutouts, allowing just two hits apiece in both victories with 19 total strikeouts. She finished her week with a 7.0 innings and six strikeouts with just three hits allowed in a tight 1-0 victory over AIC.


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Laura Bennett, Le Moyne
Fr. | Pitcher | Corning, N.Y.

Bennett went 1-0 with a save, 0.00 ERA and 13 strikeouts over 9.1 innings over three appearances in Le Moyne's 3-1 week. She struck out 10 over seven innings in a 3-0 victory over Saint Rose on Friday, while yielding just five hits. She struck out the only batter she faced to earn the save in a 6-5 win over the Golden Knights on Saturday. She tallied two strikeouts over two scoreless innings of relief on Saturday.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

McKkenzie Richards, Assumption (Sr., 3B, Cranston, R.I)
Richards recorded 10 hits in a 6-2 week for the Hounds. She tallied four RBIs and six runs scored in 21 at bats and finished the week hitting .476. Richards also added a stolen base on the week.

Mia Nowicki, Assumption (Sr., P, Chelsea, Mass.)
Nowicki pitched in four games and picked up three wins for Assumption last week. In 22.2 innings pitched, Nowicki struck out 17 batters and finished the week with a 2.16 ERA. She pitched all seven innings in Assumption's 2-1 victory over Franklin Pierce on Monday. In game one with Stonehill, Nowicki pitched 5.2 innings and gave up just three hits and no runs scored while striking out three batters. Nowicki also got the W in Assumption's 7-2 final over the Skyhawks on Sunday. She pitched six innings, struck out six batters and allowed just one earned run and four hits.

Taylor Artley, Le Moyne (Sr., P/1B, York Haven, Pa.)
She slashed .545/.538/636 in Le Moyne's 3-1 week, while adding three runs scored and two RBI. She went 3-for-4 with two runs scored in a 7-1 win over Saint Rose on Friday. She had a hit and an RBI in a 3-0 win in the nightcap. She went 2-for-3 wit a run and an RBI in a 6-5 win over Saint Rose on Saturday.

Laura Bennett, Le Moyne (Fr., P, Corning, N.Y.)
She went 2-0 with a 1.62 earned run average and 18 strikeouts in Le Moyne's 3-1 week. She struck out 11 batters and scattered five hits in an 11-3 win over American International on Saturday. She posted seven strikeouts and allowed just five hits and two unearned runs in a 3-2 win over the Yellow Jackets on Sunday.

Anna Acevedo, Pace (Fr., P, Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Acevedo posted an ERA of 1.40 in 10.0 innings of work last week. She finished the three appearances with nine strikeouts while allowing just five total hits. Acevedo has now tallied a 1.57 ERA across her last 22.1 innings of action.

Kaylani Miller, Pace (Fr., 3B, Los Angeles, Calif.)
Miller served as Pace's top hitter (.455) during a 2-2 stretch last week. The freshman was especially impressive in a sweep against Saint Rose, going 5-for-7 with five RBIs and three runs scored. She tallied three triples in the Setters' first game of the week, and currently ranks first in the NE10 with four three-baggers this season.

Morgan Perry, Saint Anselm (Sr., P, Bethany, Conn.)
Perry went 4-0 last week, striking out 46 batters and allowing two earned runs for a 0.54 ERA in 26.0 innings of work. Against the Falcons in game one on Monday, the Hawks were fueled by a seven-run third inning to push them to an 8-0 victory as Perry fanned 10 batters in the process. Against Assumption on Wednesday, Perry held the Assumption bats at bay, striking out 15 batters and only allowing three hits. Perry improved to 6-0 on the season against the Penmen on Saturday, striking out 14 batters and surrendering four hits and one run. In the final game of the week on Sunday, Perry finished the day with seven strikeouts, allowing five hits and one run over seven innings against the Penmen.

Kylie Fitzpatrick, Saint Anselm (So., 2B, Danville, N.H.)
Fitzpatrick led the team in batting average among Hawks student-athletes this week with a .455. She recorded 10 hits, two doubles, one triple, and one home run, and bringing home three runs over 22 at-bats. She also posted a .773 slugging percentage. In the field, she recorded 11 putouts and 10 assists for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. Fitzpatrick ends the weekend on a nine-game hitting streak. She earned two hits in game two contests against Assumption and Southern New Hampshire. Fitzpatrick added a long home run to her week on Wednesday against Assumption.

Sydney Longley, St. Michael's (Sr., RHP, East Granby, Conn.)
Longley went 1-0 with a 1.54 ERA and a .192 opponent batting average over two starts last weekend against Bentley. She yielded three runs on 10 hits in 13.2 innings, walking six and striking out three. In a 4-3 loss on Saturday, Longley started and tossed two frames before leaving a scoreless game, only to reenter in the fourth with her team down 3-1. Her final line was six innings, five hits, one run, two walks and three strikeouts. During a 7-6 win on Sunday, she fired the first 5.2 innings before leaving with the Purple Knights leading 6-2. Longley returned with a runner at second in a tie ballgame in the seventh, ultimately working around that jam before her team won it the next inning. Longley ended the day with 7.2 innings, five hits, two runs, four walks and no strikeouts.

Chloe Griffin, Southern N.H. (Sr., DH, Scarborough, Maine)
The senior went the distance in Saturday's 3-2 win over #16 Saint Anselm. Griffin allowed five hits in earning her second win of the season. She also batted .385 with five hits and one double.
