The Hawks Headline Three NE10 Programs in NCAA Softball Championship


MANSFIELD, Mass. -  Northeast-10 Champion Saint Anselm and the Southwest Division Co-Regular Season Champions Adelphi and New Haven have been selected to compete in the NCAA Division II Softball Championship as announced on Sunday evening. They are three of the six teams which will travel to East Region host Saint Anselm to play, beginning on Wednesday, May 19. 

The East Region Championship will be double elimination regional with three games schedule for each of the first three days of the four-day event. Host Saint Anselm has a detailed championship page with the attendance policy, game times and links to follow all the action live. 

Saint Anselm earned the No. 2 seed after clinching its second straight NE10 Championship sweeping Adelphi 7-3 and 2-1 on Friday afternoon. The Hawks improved to 29-4 overall with the victory and have won 13 consecutive games. 

Adelphi reached its fourth consecutive NE10 Championship Game, but came up short for the second straight year as they secured the No. 3 seed in the region. The Panthers went 20-4 in conference play this year and 27-8 overall. 

New Haven clinched the No. 5 seed after falling to Adelphi in the Southwest Division Championship series. The Chargers are 27-7 this year and are the only team in the region to beat both Adelphi and Saint Anselm this season.

Georgian Court secured the top seed in the region after winning the CACC Regular Season and Tournament Championships. The Lions went 35-4 this season, including an impressive 25-1 in conference play. Molloy earned the No. 4 seed in the region after going 29-14 this year, including a 16-6 mark in conference play. Bridgeport, the ECC Tournament Champion rounded out the field as the No. 6 field with its 22-7 overall mark this year.
