Saint Anselm & Franklin Pierce Lead NE10 with Four All-Region Selections Apiece
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has announced the 2021 NFCA Division II All-Region teams and the Northeast-10 had 12 student-athletes earned East Region recognition, including seven on the First Team.
Saint Anslem and Franklin Pierce led all NE10 schools with four selections apiece. NE10 pitchers made up all three spots on the first team and claimed one more on the second team. The Hawks had a region-best three players on the first team, in pitcher Morgan Perry, second baseman Kylie Fitzpatrick and shortstop Bre Klaiber. At the conclusion of the regular season in the Northeast Division, Perry was named Pitcher of the Year, Fitzpatrick Defensive Player of the Year and Klaiber was the Player of the Year.
Also earning selection to the first team was Franklin Pierce pitcher Cyrena Zemaitis and outfielder Ashley Cangiano, the Northeast Division Rookie of the Year. Adelphi pitcher Ally Muller and New Haven's Ava Fitzmaurice made up the final two honorees on the first team. Muller was honored as the Southwest Division Pitcher of the Year while Fitzmaurice earned Player of the Year honors.
The Raven's Gina Hinckley and Madi Killebrew were selected to the second team at first and third base while Saint Anselm's McKenna Smith was honored as a pitcher. Lauren O'Neill was selected in the outfield while Assumption's Alyssa Beaton was a second-team honoree at shortstop.
The 2021 NFCA Division II All-American teams will be announced on Tuesday, May 25.
