Golden Knights Have Won Three-Straight NE10 Titles.
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Saint Rose, a three-time defending league champion, repeated as the preseason favorite when the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Soccer Coaches' Poll was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
It is the third-straight year that the Golden Knights have been chosen first by NE10 head coaches, as they tallied 119 points and nine first-place votes. Under head coach Laurie Darling Gutheil, Saint Rose has captured a league-record 10 NE10 titles during her tenure – including the 2022 season.
Franklin Pierce, the reigning NCAA Division II East Region champion, finished second with 107 points and two first-place votes. The Ravens defeated the Golden Knights, 2-1, in a double-overtime thriller in last year's NCAA East Region Championship - claiming the program's first regional title in 15 years.
Adelphi placed third in the Coaches' Poll with 103 points and one first-place vote, while Southern New Hampshire (88 points) and Southern Connecticut (72 points) rounded-out the top five. Saint Anselm (69 points), Assumption (63 points) and Bentley (56 points) would also qualify for the NE10 Women's Soccer Championship, according to the poll.
