NE10 Offensive Player of the Week
Vinnie Holmes, Bentley
Senior | Running Back | Mansfield, Mass.
Holmes rushed for 260 yards and one touchdown in Bentley's 40-13 win over Post. His rushing total was the 3rd most in a single-game in program history. Holmes' rushing output on Saturday is also the most in a Division II game so far this season. He averaged 8.4 yard per carry and broke an 81-yard run on the first play from scrimmage.
NE10 Defensive Player of the Week
Giye Jenkins, New Haven
Junior | Defensive Back | West Orange, N.J.
Jenkins led the Charger defense with 10 tackles while adding a pair of pass breakups and was a part of three interceptions for New Haven, adding his third interception of the season, giving him one in each of the three games this year. Among his 10 tackles were six solo stops, while he had one result in a loss of four yards in a 34-7 win over Southern Connecticut.
NE10 Special Teams Player of the Week
Mason Campbell, Bentley
Senior | Kicker | Naples, Fla.
Campbell accounted for 10 points with two field goals and four extra points in Bentley's win over Post on Saturday. He also had three touch backs on kickoffs and averaged 54.9 yards on seven kickoffs.
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Owen Fitzgerald, Assumption
Sophomore (Rookie Eligible) | Linebacker | Auburn, Mass.
Fitzgerald was all over the field for the Greyhounds, as he recorded nine tackles, including 2.5 tackles for a loss and one sack, in a loss to No. 7 Grand Valley State.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Joseph MacDougall, Assumption (Sr., DL - Kittery, Me.)
MacDougall was a key part of the Greyhounds' special teams, as the defensive lineman recorded a pair of blocks in the Grand Valley State kicking game.
Tommy DeMatteo, Bentley (Jr., DE - Milton, Mass.)
DeMatteo had a career-high three sacks for -16 yards in a 40-13 win over Post. He forced a fumble on his first sack of the afternoon.
Daelen Menard, New Haven (Sr., QB - Fort Lauderdale, Fla.)
The Chargers graduate quarterback had a breakout game in the NE10 opener against crosstown rival Southern Connecticut State University, throwing for 212 yards on 17-of-24 attempts for an average of 8.8 yards per attempt. Among his 17 completions were three touchdowns, connecting with Kevin Foelsch, Kasi Hazzard and Dev Holmes. In addition, Menard racked up 12 yards on the ground and added a fourth touchdown to his credit, giving him a hand in all four of the Chargers offensive scores.
Max Tempchin, Saint Anselm (Fifth Year, DL - Silver Spring, Md.)
Tempchin totaled seven tackles in the team's NE10 opener against AIC, leading the way with a pair of tackles for a loss and one QB sack for a loss of 12 yards. The fifth-year defensive lineman gave the Yellow Jackets offense fits all afternoon, providing constant pressure on an offense that was playing from behind all day. Tempchin also had five QB hurries on the day in what was his best outing of the season thus far.
Vincent Wagner, Saint Anselm (Fifth Year, RB - Staten Island, N.Y.)
Wagner carried the ball 20 times on Saturday, racking up 115 yards rushing (5.8 ypr) and scored a touchdown in Saint Anselm's 24-14 win over AIC. Wagner was part of a backfield duo (Bowen Lewis) that totaled 215 yards on the ground for the Hawks on 35 carries, the first 200+ yard rushing output for Saint Anselm since Nov. 16, 2019 against Assumption (226yds).
Tylon Papallo, Southern Conn. St. (Sr., WR - Meriden, Conn.)
Papallo led all NE10 receivers for Week 3 of the season with eight catches for 88 yards that included a 32-yard touchdown reception as the Owls lone score of the day.
