New Haven and Saint Anselm place three on All-Conference teams

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Franklin Pierce University's Eric Jean-Guillaume was named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year for the second straight season by the conference's head coaches it was announced today. The senior wing becomes just the sixth player in conference history to earn the award in consecutive seasons.

Jean-Guillaume was also named to the All Conference First Team as the NE-10 announced its major awards and all-conference teams today. See below for the entire list of honorees.

The senior guard has put together another outstanding all-around season in helping lead Franklin Pierce to another 16-win campaign in conference play. Jean-Guillaume is currently averaging 16.4 points per game, sixth-best in the conference, and his 2.4 steals per game are tops in the Northeast-10. He's also averaging 3.5 assists per game (tenth-best in league) and is pulling down 3.3 rebounds per outing.

University of New Haven sophomore forward Eric Anderson was tabbed as the Northeast-10 Conference's Defensive Player of the Year. Anderson has helped spearhead a Chargers defense that is currently tops in the league, and ninth in the country, allowing only 59.5 points per game. After dropping four straight to begin league play, New Haven has won 16 of their last 18 NE-10 games and earned the third seed in the upcoming conference championship.

Individually, Anderson is currently tied for the league lead in rebounds per game with 12.0 per outing, and his 60 blocked shots are second best among Northeast-10 student-athletes. The sophomore was also named to the 2013 Northeast-10 All Conference's Second Team.

Saint Anselm College freshman forward Mike McCahey was named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Year by the conference's head coaches. McCahey becomes the third consecutive winner from Saint Anselm to earn the award, as Allen Harris claimed it two years ago, while McCahey's teammate Roy Mabrey won it a year ago.

The eight-time Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week is averaging 16.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, fifth-best and 11th-best in the NE-10 currently, and helped the Hawks win the regular season title as they went 18-4 in league play. The first-year forward is among the conference's leaders, knocking down just under 40-percent of his three-point attempts on the season. He was also named to the conference's All-Rookie Team

McCahey's coach, Keith Dickson was named the 2013 Northeast-10 Coach of the Year by his peers. Dickson, whose Hawks were picked to finish 9th prior to the start of the season, ended conference play with the NE-10 regular season title, posting an 18-4 mark in league play and 22-4 overall. It's their first conference title since sharing the crown following the 1999-2000 season.

It's the fourth time during his illustrious career Dickson has been honored with the Coach of the Year award, and adds another line to his already impressive resume, which grew during the year as Dickson won his 500th career game in mid-January.

Three of Dickson's players were tabbed as All-Conference selections, as sophomore guard Roy Mabrey was named First Team, freshman forward Mike McCahey was tabbed for the Second Team, and junior Dino Mallios was a Third-Team honoree.

Dickson's Hawks will be the top seed when the 2013 Northeast-10 Conference Men's Basketball Championship gets underway Friday, March 1st with two First Round games. Saint Anselm will play host to the winner of the University of Massachusetts Lowell / Le Moyne College matchup Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m.
