Third-seeded Assumption also advanced to the semis with a 73-65 win over sixth-seeded Southern New Hampshire University. The Greyhounds draw seventh-seeded Bridgeport after the Purple Knights knocked off regional host and No. 2 seed Saint Anselm College, 77-66.

Third-seeded Assumption took the first of four contests played at the SNHU Fieldhouse on Saturday, defeating So. New Hampshire, 73-65, in front of a crowd of 1,778.

The Penmen cut the deficit down to 64-60 with 3:11 to play in the second half before the Greyhounds were able to close out the victory, even without Tim Beinert and Ronson Quick, as both fouled out for Assumption relatively early in the second half.

In their absence, Terrance Bobb-Jones came up big for Assumption (20-7) with 11 points, 17 rebounds, six assists and two blocks. Beinert still finished with 18 points in just 20 minutes of action.

So. New Hampshire (19-10), a week removed from winning its first-ever Northeast-10 Championship, was led by CJ Marriro, who poured in a game-high 22 points, including a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line. Aleksandar Dobrovic and Mike Stys had 17 and 15 points, respectively, for the Penmen, who shot just 31.6 percent in the loss.

The two teams combined to commit 53 fouls and take 69 free throw attempts in the contest.

#7 Bridgeport 77, #2 Saint Anselm 66 | BOX
A game-high 32 points from Chris Santo was not enough for the Hawks as regional host Saint Anselm fell to Bridgeport, 77-66, on Saturday in front of 1,559 fans at the SNHU Fieldhouse.

Santo shot 11-of-18 from the floor and added 12 rebounds in the losing effort, as the Hawks (23-5) were never able to recover from a 12-point halftime deficit. They shot just 31.5 percent for the game, including a mere 15 percent (3-20) from three-point range.

Saint Anselm's Roy Mabrey added 14 points, five boards and four assists while playing all 40 minutes in the quarterfinal loss.
