Host Bentley One of Five Northeast-10 Teams Selected to NCAA Women's Basketball East Regional

Five Northeast-10 teams receive selection to
eight-team regional, all contests to be aired online at no cost 

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – No. 1 nationally ranked Bentley University will host the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championship East Regional at the Dana Center in Waltham, Mass., it was announced Sunday night in an online selection show at NCAA.com.

Bentley was one of five Northeast-10 Conference teams selected to the eight-team field.

The Falcons, who improved to 29-0 on the season with its fourth straight Northeast-10 Championship on Sunday, will host eighth-seeded Bloomfield (20-9) on Friday, March 14 at 6:00 p.m.

Adelphi University (22-7) earned the second seed and will take on seventh-seeded University of New Haven (18-9) on Friday. The Northeast-10 opponents will tip off in Friday's second quarterfinal contest of the day at 2:30 p.m.

Assumption College (18-10) was named the No. 6 seed and will take on third-seeded LIU Post (22-6) in the first contest on Friday at noon, while Stonehill College (18-9) received the fourth seed and will take on fifth-seeded District of Columbia (21-7) in the final quarterfinal at 8:30 p.m.

Each game of the 2014 NCAA East Regional Championship will be available online free of charge at packnetwork.com, courtesy of an agreement reached between the three conferences that make up the East Region – the Northeast-10, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), and the East Coast Conference (ECC) – to provide the games without a cost to our fans.

Bloomfield is the CACC automatic bid as the league's tournament champion. Dist. Columbia is the ECC league champ, while LIU Post received an at-large bid out of the ECC.

Semifinal action will take place on Saturday, March 15, with the regional title game scheduled for Monday, March 17.

The Northeast-10 Conference is an association of 15 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that is committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for more than 6,000 student-athletes.
