MANCHESTER, N.H. – Since the start of the fall semester, the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team has been active in several community events.

On Saturday, September 7, the team participated in the fifth annual Give a Little, Feed a Lot food drive on the So. New Hampshire campus.  The women's basketball team was a part of a group of over 100 volunteers that collected over 7,000 pounds of food in Manchester's North End for the New Hampshire Food Bank.

On Monday, Sept. 23, the team participated in the Take Back the Night march (pictured) and rally on campus.  The event, in its fourth year at So. New Hampshire, raises awareness on campus about the issue of sexual violence and the fact that violence of any kind will not be tolerated in the community.

On Tuesday, October 1, several members of the team participated in a youth clinic at the McKelvie Middle School in Bedford, N.H., teaching youngsters fundamentals in ball handling and shooting as well as team defensive concepts.

Head coach Karen Pinkos participated in Manchester's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk on Sunday, Oct. 20.  So. New Hampshire women's basketball's annual Penmen Pink Day for breast cancer awareness will take place on Saturday, February 15 against Stonehill College.
