Stonehill ranked No. 7 preseason ledger,
three other Northeast-10 teams receiving votes

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - Bentley University has been voted number one in the preseason USA TODAY Sports Division II Top 25 by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) voting board.

The Falcons received 18 of 31 first-place votes and a total of 694 points to garner its second number one distinction of the preseason. Earlier, Women's Division II Bulletin tabbed the Falcons as its favorite entering the 2013-14 campaign. Bentley has now been ranked in the top-10 in the last 32 regular season polls, the longest current streak in the country.

Northeast-10 Conference rival Stonehill College is ranked seventh in poll, marking Stonehill's highest national ranking since the Skyhawks were ranked fourth in the January 6, 2009 poll. Stonehill, which made its 21st NCAA Tournament appearance last season, was ousted last year by eventual NCAA Division II finalist Dowling College in the regional semis.

Bentley will have 10 of the top 11 players back from last year's 30-2 team, while Stonehill returns all five starters and 11 letterwinners from its 2012-13 squad, which posted a 24-5 record overall, including a 19-3 mark in NE-10 play to finish second in the conference standings.

The two programs will square off on November 23 at Stonehill.

Assumption College, Franklin Pierce University and Pace University were among the teams receiving votes from the Northeast-10.
