Three of Four High Seeds Advance to NE10 Women's Lacrosse Semifinals

Saint Anselm Upsets Bentley in Nail-Biting Finish.


MANSFIELD, Mass. - No. 5-seeded Saint Anselm scored the only upset of Tuesday's quarterfinal round of the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Lacrosse Championship, as three of the four high seeds advanced to Friday's semifinal round. Top-seeded Pace will host Saint Anselm at 6 p.m., while No. 2-seeded Le Moyne welcomes No. 3-seeded Adelphi at 4 p.m. 

Saint Anselm edged No. 4-seeded Bentley by an 11-10 margin, scoring a road victory and a trip to Pace on Friday. The highest seed remaining following the semifinal round will host the NE10 Championship final on Sunday.

(2) Le Moyne 17, (7) Assumption 7 – Box Score

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The fifth-ranked Le Moyne women's lacrosse team had five players record five points as the Dolphins registered a 17-7 victory over 21st-ranked Assumption in the quarterfinals of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship on Tuesday afternoon at Ted Grant Field.

With the victory, the Dolphins (16-2) advance to the NE10 semifinals for the eighth-straight season, the longest active streak in the conference, and for the 11th time in 12 seasons in the conference. The second-seeded Dolphins will host third-seeded Adelphi University on Friday at 4:00 p.m.

Sara Goodwin (five goals) and Jessica Meneilly (four goals) combined for nine goals, while goalkeeper Paige Crandall made six saves in the victory. 


(3) Adelphi 14, (6) New Haven 11 - Box Score

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - Making its 13th appearance in as many years, the Adelphi women's lacrosse program defeated the sixth-seeded New Haven Chargers, 14-11, on Tuesday to advance to the semifinals in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship.

The Panthers (12-5) were up 14-5 heading into the final 12 minutes of action and were tested down the stretch as New Haven (11-7) strung together six-straight goals to come within three before the buzzer rang. Kelly-Ann McGrath and Kerrin Heuser were each responsible for four goals in the victory, as five other players chipped in on offense to secure the win.

With the victory, Adelphi heads to Syracuse, N.Y. on Friday, May 5, for a meeting with second-seeded Le Moyne. Earlier in the season, the Panthers were down early to the Dolphins and could not overcome the deficit, ultimately dropping an 14-8 decision.

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The top-seeded Pace women's lacrosse team defeated Southern New Hampshire in the NE10 Conference Championship quarterfinals on Tuesday night, 19-6, at Pace Stadium to advance to the semifinals on Friday evening.  

Kayla Conway had seven goals, while Angelina Porcello had five goals and two assists. Emma Rafferty and Jolie Urraro each scored three, and goalkeeper Samantha Tanguay got the win in net, making three saves. Rafferty set the program single-season goals record with her 69th of the season. 

With the win, Pace will host No. 5-seeded Saint Anselm on Friday at 6 p.m. at Pace Stadium. 


(5) Saint Anselm 11, (4) Bentley 10 - Box Score

WALTHAM, Mass. – Taylor Cobain and Jess Sullivan combined for nine points in No. 5-seeded Saint Anselm's 11-10 upset win over No. 4-seeded Bentley on Tuesday night, advancing to Friday's semifinals at top-seeded Pace. Cobain had four goals and one assist, while Sullivan had three goals and one assist. 

Saint Anselm goalkeeper Elizabeth Driscoll tallied 11 saves in the victory, including a pair of clutch stops in the fourth quarter. Kenzie Lupton was Bentley's leading scorer with four points (three goals, one assist). 

It is Saint Anselm's second trip to the NE10 Championship semifinals in the past three seasons.
