Le Moyne Earns Top Seed in NE10 Women's Tennis Championship

Dolphins Earn NE10 Regular Season Title. 


MANSFIELD, Mass. – Le Moyne has claimed its first-ever Northeast-10 Conference regular season title and the top seed in the upcoming Women's Tennis Championship, as announced by the league office on Saturday afternoon.

The Dolphins (12-1, 10-0 NE10) have clinched the top spot in the NE10 Championship, finishing one game ahead of one-loss Southern New Hampshire (9-1, 9-1 NE10). It is the first regular season title for Le Moyne under head coach Jeff Lonczak.

Le Moyne women's tennis seeks its first NE10 title in program history and looks to become the second team in this calendar year to accomplish that feat. Back in May, Franklin Pierce captured its first-ever NE10 championship as the No. 1 seed. 

For seedings and matchups of the 2021 NE10 Women's Tennis Championship, please see the full schedule below for dates and times. The NE10 Championship quarterfinals are scheduled for Wednesday, October 20, and will be hosted by Franklin Pierce and Adelphi.

The two top seeds – Le Moyne and Southern New Hampshire – will receive byes in the quarterfinal round and prepare to host semifinal matches on Friday, October 22. The Dolphins will play the winner of 4-5 matchup between Adelphi and Stonehill, while the Penmen will host the winner of the 3-6 matchup between defending NE10 champion Franklin Pierce and New Haven.

The NE10 Championship final is scheduled for Sunday, October 24, at the highest remaining seed's home courts.

All matches may be impacted by the conference's COVID-19 protocols, but no bracket adjustments will be made. If a team is not available to play, it will be recorded as a "No Contest" and their opponent will advance to the next round.

Match #2:  #5 Stonehill at #4 Adelphi (1:00 PM; if moved indoors, the match will start at 2 pm at the Point Set Racquet Club in Oceanside)

Friday, October 22nd h     
Semifinals

Match #3:  Match #1 winner at #2 SNHU (1:00 PM; if moved indoors, the match will start at 12 PM at the Goffstown YMCA).
Match #4:  Match #2 winner at #1 Le Moyne (1:00 PM; indoor back-up information TBD)

Sunday, October 24th    
Championship ­ (to be held at highest remaining seed)

Game 5:  Game 3 winner vs Game 4 winner (1:00 PM)
