Finalists Released for NE10 Scholar-Athletes of the Year

NE10 Awards Show Scheduled for Thursday, June 9.


MANSFIELD, Mass. – Of the 14 institutional nominees for both the Northeast-10 Conference Male and Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards, the lists have been narrowed down to three finalists each, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon.

Finalists for the NE10 Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year awards this year represent six different schools and five different sports. The announcement of award recipients will be made the night of Thursday, June 9, on the NE10's YouTube page

Eligibility requirements for nomination are that a student-athlete must be in their final year of athletic eligibility, graduating with a degree in May (unless in a master's program), must be enrolled in a full-time course load and must have a minimum final cumulative grade point average of 3.30. A committee made up of faculty members and athletic administrators conducts voting for the awards.

Each of the league's 14 member institutions nominated at least one student-athlete for each award and the 28 total nominations were released on May 19

NE10 Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year Finalists

Tobias Liska, Assumption
Sport: Football
Undergraduate Major: Neuroscience with a Cellular Path
Undergraduate GPA: 3.87

Liska has been a staple of the offensive line for Assumption, but his biggest contributions have come off the field. He is a two-time Academic All-Conference selection and has been on the Dean's List and the NE10 Academic Honor Roll in every semester at Assumption, while graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors. He achieved the highest GPA on his team for three-straight seasons and is the program's SAAC representative. 

Liska was a First Team All-Conference pick in 2021. He started 20 games on the offensive line for the Greyhounds since 2018. 

Andrew Brazicki, Bentley
Sport: Football
Undergraduate Major: Corporate Finance and Accounting 
Undergraduate GPA: 3.68

Graduate Program: MBA (Finance)
Graduate GPA: 3.72

Brazicki has succeeded in both academics and athletics at Bentley, highlighted by his two-time CoSIDA Academic All-America status - including a First Team nod in 2020-21. He is also a two-time semifinalist for the National Football Foundation (NFF) Campbell Trophy. Brazicki won the NE10's Sport Excellence Award in football and is a three-time Academic All-Conference selection. He is a four-time Dean's List honoree and graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors. 

Brazicki was a Second Team All-Conference selection in 2021. He helped Bentley win the 2019 NE10 Football Championship and contributed to the program's NCAA postseason bid in 2021. He ranks third in program history in career rushing yards. 

Carlos Ferrando Felis, Franklin Pierce
Sport: Men's Soccer
Undergraduate Major: Health Sciences
Undergraduate GPA: 3.98

Ferrando Felis has had a hugely successful academic career at Franklin Pierce, in addition to helping the Ravens win the 2021 NE10 Men's Soccer Championship. He was named CoSIDA Academic All-America Team Member of the Year in 2021, adding to his accolades of being a two-time CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American and Academic All-District honoree. He won the NE10 Sport Excellence Award following the 2021 campaign. 

Ferrando Felis was named a D2CCA First Team All-American and NE10 Player of the Year in 2021. Overall, he is a three-time All-American and two-time NE10 First Team All-Conference member. 


NE10 Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year Finalists

Barbie Quagliardi, Adelphi
Sport: Women's Tennis
Undergraduate Major: Business Analytics
Undergraduate GPA: 3.989

Quagliardi, the NE10 Elite 24 Award winner in women's tennis for 2021-22, helped lead Adelphi to a finalist finish in the NE10 Women's Tennis Championship this past fall. She is a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, two-time Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar and was the NE10 Sport Excellence Award winners in the 2020-21 season. Quagliardi was recently named Adelphi's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year and is a five-time Dean's List student. 

She is a three-time First Team All-Conference selection and earned Player of the Year honors in 2019-20. Quagliardi was named an ITA Division II All-American in doubles in 2019-20. 

Colleen Quaglia, Saint Rose
Sport: Women's Swimming & Diving
Undergraduate Major: Accounting
Undergraduate GPA: 4.0 

Quaglia has enjoyed a storied career at Saint Rose - serving as team captain, while holding eight individual school records and is part of three record-holding relay teams. She is a three-time All-American and qualified for the NCAA Championships in both 2019 and 2020. Quaglia is a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American, a two-time CSCAA Scholar All-American, a two-time NE10 Elite 24 Award winner and the NE10's Sport Excellence Award winner in women's swimming & diving following the 2021-22 season. 

Quaglia was named NE10 Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet in 2022 after winning gold in three events (500 free, 400 IM, 200 fly) and meeting NCAA provisional qualifying standards in each one. She is one of only two NE10 student-athletes that made a third appearance on the Academic All-Conference Team this past winter. 

Camryn Thompson, Stonehill
Sport: Women's Soccer
Undergraduate Major: Biology/Health Care Administration
Undergraduate GPA: 3.93 

Thompson has been a big contributor in her time at Stonehill, both on and off the field. She is a three-time Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar, as well as a United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American and a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team member. Thompson was a member of the NE10 Academic All-Conference Team in 2021 and has earned a place on the league's Academic Honor Roll in every semester. 

Thompson is a three-time NE10 All-Conference selection and was an All-Region pick (D2CCA and United Soccer Coaches) in 2021.
