Greyhounds Won First-Ever NE10 Title in 2021.
MANSFIELD, Mass. - Assumption University, the defending league champion, was selected as the preseason favorite in the Northeast-10 Conference Field Hockey Coaches' Poll Tuesday morning.
The Greyhounds received 165 points and 10 of 14 first-place votes from the opposing head coaches in the league. Under head coach Annie Lahey, Assumption made it's seventh straight NE10 Tournament appearance and won the progam's first NE10 title during the 2021 season.
In addition to winning the NE10 Championship final game last season, the Greyhounds earned a trip to the NCAA semifinal. After maintianing an impressive 20-1 record to that point, Assumption fell to West Chester by a score of 3-0.
Saint Anselm finished second in the poll with 154 points and four first-place votes. In third was Bentley with 140, followed by Adelphi (134) and Pace (127) to round out the top five teams.
