Assumption, Saint Anselm & Adelphi Earn NCAA Bids
MANSFIELD, Mass. – After winning the program's first-ever NE10 Title Sunday afternoon, Adelphi was selected at the No. 6 seed in the NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championship, and are joined in the field by Assumption at No. 4 and Saint Anselm at No. 5. The First Round games will be played on Saturday, Nov. 26.
Adelphi, who pulled off a double-overtime semifinal upset at Saint Asnelm in the conference tournament before defeating Pacec 2-1 in the title game, will travel to No. 3 West Chester (14-4) for a re-match of last year's First Round game - the Rams went on to be the National Runner-Up last year. The Panthers currently hold a 13-8 record and are making their second-consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament. The winner of the Adelphi and West Chester matchup will play No. 2 Shippensburg in the Semifinal.
East Stroudsburg was the No. 1 seed overall after an 18-2 season and winning the PSAC Title over Millersville in overtime. The Warriors will compete in the National Semifinal against the winner of No. 4 Assumption and No. 5 Saint Anselm. The Greyhounds (14-5) will host the Hawks (14-6) who last played one another during the regular season when the Hawks took down the Greyhounds in a shootout.
