NE10 Player of the Week

Zach Laput, Bentley
Senior l Guard l Beacon Falls, Conn.

In two come-from-behind wins on the road, Laput averaged 23.5 points, five rebounds, 3.5 assists and two steals while making 12 of 20 shots overall (.600), half of his 12 three-point attempts, and 17 of 19 free throws. Bentley earned a 72-66 win at Southern Connecticut by scoring the game's final 15 points, with Laput accounting for 11 of those. He finished with 30 points, four rebounds and four steals against the Owls. Laput, who played all but 57 seconds in the two games, scored 17 in a 79-70 win at Pace despite attempting only five shots from the field. He was 10-of-10 at the line, had six rebounds and five assists against the Setters, and moved from 23rd to 17th on Bentley's all-time scoring list.


NE10 Rookie of the Week

David Luberoff, Adelphi
Freshman | Forward | Midland Park, N.J.

Luberoff scored in double-figures in both contests for Adelphi this week, setting a new career-high with 14 points in a victory over league-leading Saint Michael's. After scoring 10 points in five minutes in the loss to Assumption, Luberoff went 5-for-7 from the field and 4-for-4 at the charity stripe to help the Panthers defeat the Purple Knights. For the week he added six rebounds and averaged 12 points per game.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Dayshaun Walton, Adelphi (So., G - Albany, N.Y.)
Despite a 1-1 week for Adelphi, Walton nearly averaged a double-double with 23.5 points and nine rebounds per contest. In a loss to Assumption he collected a team-high 25 points behind 8-for-14 shooting from the field with a perfect 8-for-8 performance at the free throw line and 10 rebounds. Taking down the top team in the conference later in the week, Walton scored 22 points with 64 percent shooting while adding eight rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Justice Ellison, American Int'l (Jr., G/F - Windsor, Conn.)
Ellison led AIC's offense against two tough opponents, averaging 20 points per game across a two-game week and adding eight rebounds per game. He posted a 22-10 double double against Saint Anselm on the road. 

Kasey Draper, Assumption (Sr., F - Roanoke, Va.)
Draper continued his hot streak in two wins this week for the Greyhounds. At Adelphi on Tuesday, he scored 23 points while adding four rebounds and two assists as Assumption snapped the Panthers' home-winning streak. On Saturday, Draper poured in a game-high 26 points with five rebounds in the Greyhounds' 17 point win over Southern New Hampshire, 76-59.

Davontrey Thomas, New Haven (Sr., F - Poughkeepsie, N.Y.)
Thomas led the Chargers scoring efforts last week, averaging 19.0 points per game across a pair of games, including a season-high 25 points in a home win over Saint Rose. Overall for the week, Thomas shot 52% from the field, connecting on 13-25, including five from beyond the three point arc. In addition, he added 12 rebounds combined across the two games, including nine as he finished one rebound shy of a double-double against the Golden Knights.

Josh Morissette, Saint Anselm (So., G - Exeter, N.H.)
Morissette was the only player to score back-to-back 20-plus point games for Saint Anselm to continue the Hawks' four-game win streak. He poured in a combined 51 points over the week going 16-for-33 from the field and knocked down 10 three-pointers for a 55.6 shooting percentage from behind the arc. Morissette also went 9-for-9 for a perfect 100 shooting percentage from the free throw line over the week. He currently ranks second in three-pointers made (55-127), fourth in field goals made (104-229), and sixth in total points (306) in the league.

Romar Reid, Saint Michael's (Sr., G - Mount Vernon, N.Y.)
Reid averaged 18.0 points on 48.3% shooting with 2.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals during a 1-1 week. In a 73-59 win at AIC on Tuesday, he posted 15 points, four assists, two rebounds and a steal before turning in 21 points, three boards, two steals and an assist in a 73-68 loss to regionally-ranked Adelphi on Saturday.

Marty Silvera, Southern Conn. St. (Jr., G - Worcester, Mass.)
In a 1-1 week, Silvera averaged 17 points, 7.0 assists and 3.0 steals. Against Bentley, Silvera finished with 13 points, five assists and three steals. Against Franklin Pierce, Silvera had 21 points and nine assists to go along with three steals. For the year, Silvera is averaging 12.5 points, 6.9 assists and 2.4 steals per game.
