NE10 Earns Five All-Region Selections.
MANSFIELD, Mass. - Bentley senior guard Zach Laput was named the East Region Player of the Year for the second-straight season, as the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) announced its All-Region men's basketball honors on Friday. Laput headlines a group of five players from the Northeast-10 Conference to earn All-Region status.
Laput earned his second NE10 Player of the Year award following the regular season and helped Bentley to a tie for second place in the conference standings. He ranked second among all NE10 players with 20.0 points per game and is among the top-10 scorers in Bentley history with more than 1,600 career points. In addition to being named East Region Player of the Year, he was one of three NE10 players to earn First Team All-Region honors.
Southern New Hampshire's Matt Becht, the Most Outstanding Player of the NE10 Championship, earned a First Team selection following his Second Team honor in the 2022-23 season. American International's Justice Ellison, the NE10's leading scorer at 21.9 points per game, was the final First Team honoree from the NE10.
A pair of other NE10 players - Saint Anselm's Tyler Arbuckle and Pace's Bryan Powell - earned Second Team All-Region. For Arbuckle, it is his second-straight All-Region selection after being named to the First Team last season. Both players were First Team All-Conference selections following the regular season.
Sports Information Directors from NCAA Division II East Region schools and conferences selected the two All-Region teams. The process concludes with All-American selections announced in later this month.
The Division II CCA encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
