US LACROSSE MAGAZINE PRESEASON ALL-AMERICANS
Ben McCreary of Le Moyne Named US Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Player of the Year
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Fresh off Le Moyne's sixth NCAA Championship 2021 and an undefeated season, the Dolphins' Ben McCreary was recently honored as the USA Lacrosse Magazine DII Preseason Player of the Year to highlight 10 Preseason All-Americans from the Northeast-10.
McCreary was one of six Dolphins to receive preseason honors, including a nation-leading three on the first team. The midfielder was honored after totaling 26 goals in 2021, highlighted by three in the NCAA Semifinals and two more in the NCAA Championship. Teammate Carter Collins was honored as the Preseason Attackman of the Year and arrives in Syracuse after scoring 40 goals for Lindenwood a season ago. Nate Arnold was selected as the Preseason Defensemen of the Year following First-Team All-America honors last year.
Adelphi's Sean McGovern was a First-Team honoree at LSM after earning Second-Team All-America recognition last season. The Second Team featured a pair of Dolphins, in midfielder Colin Sypek and SSDM John Galimi.
Three different teams were represented on the Third Team. Saint Anselm had a pair of honorees, led by reigning USILA Goalkeeper of the Year, CJ Hart and Honorable Mention All-American defender Ryan Slattery. Reigning NE10 Rookie of the Year Anthony Caputo was recognized as a midfielder, while Casey Nevins earn recognition as an SSDM for Le Moyne.
The 2022 season begins in February, with conference play starting in March.
