Defending National Champions Picked to Repeat as NE10 Champions in 2022
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Following Le Moyne's sixth NCAA Championship and 15th NE10 Title, the Dolphins were picked to repeat in 2022, as they headline the 2022 NE10 Men's Lacrosse Coaches Poll, released on Tuesday afternoon.
Le Moyne secured 10 of 11 first place votes for 100 total points after dispatching Lenoir-Rhyne in the NCAA National Championship last May. The Dolphins have won four of the past five NE10 Championships overall and open their title defense on Feb. 20 when face off against nationally ranked Wingate on the campus on the campus of Johns Hopkins.
Adelphi and Saint Anselm tied for the second spot in the poll with 84 total points though the Panthers claimed the final first place vote. Last year the Hawks went a perfect 10-0 in conference play during the regular season but lost 9-4 to Le Moyne in the NE10 Championship. Adelphi, meanwhile, went 6-1 in conference action before falling 14-10 to Le Moyne in the NE10 Semifinals.
Pace was selected fourth in the poll with 75 points, while Bentley rounded out the top five with 67 points. The Setters and Falcons met in the NE10 Quarterfinals a season ago, with the Setters earning a hard-fought 11-9 victory. Pace dropped a 12-10 decision to Saint Anselm in the NE10 Semifinals.
