Adelphi & Le Moyne Advance to NE10 Championship

NE10 MEN'S LACROSSE TOURNAMENT CENTRAL

MANSFIELD, Mass. –  The top seeds both advanced in the NE10 Semifinals on Wednesday, as No. 1 Adelphi and second seeded Le Moyne each used decisive second half performances to punch their ticket to the NE10 Championship on Saturday afternoon in Garden City.

The Dolphins outscored No. 3 Saint Anselm 9-4 in the second half to earn a 15-11 win while the Panthers held a 9-5 scoring edge in the second half to take down No. 5 Bentley 15-10.


No. 1 Adelphi 15, No. 5 Bentley 10 – Box Score 

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – it was a back-and-forth contest through the first 30 minutes of action, but top seeded Adelphi took control in the second half to earn a 15-11 victory over No. 5 Bentley on Wednesday evening. 

The Panthers held a slim 4-3 lead after the first quarter and Bentley came back to tie it late in the second. A goal from Joseph Duchnowski with just four seconds left provided Adelphi a 6-5 lead at the half. The Panthers outscored the Falcons 5-3 in the third quarter and pushed their lead to 13-8 early in the fourth on the way to victory.

Duchnowski finished with five goals and two caused turnovers while Jason Rebaudo added three goals and two assists. Nick Paris led the defense with five caused turnovers and three ground balls.


No. 2 Le Moyne 15, No. 3 Saint Anselm 11 – Box Score

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – No. 3 seed Saint Anselm held a 7-6 lead at the half, but second seeded Le Moyne came out firing over the first three minutes of the third to take back the lead and held off the Hawks 15-11 on Wednesday afternoon.

Saint Anselm jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the first quarter, but two goals in the final 73 seconds of the period closed Le Moyne's deficit to just 4-3. Both teams scored three times in the second to give the Hawks a one-goal edge at the half. The Dolphins scored three goals in the opening three minutes of the third, but Saint Anselm came back to tie it 10-10 with 8:30 left in regulation. Le Moyne answered with five of the game's final six goals to put the contest away. 

Zach Pierce led the Dolphin offense with four goals and two assists while Devin Andrews had three goals and one assist. Frank Delia made 13 saves in net to secure the win, while CJ Hart took the loss for the Hawks.
