NE10 Men's Soccer Report: Week 3

Week 3 - September 20, 2021

NE10 Player of the Week

Mathis Pilon St. Louis, American Int'l
Freshman | Forward | Mascouche, Quebec

AIC's rookie forward dominated to the tune of five goals in two games. He buried a brace for the Yellow Jackets in a blowout at Caldwell, and followed that with a second-half natural hat trick against New Haven that included the game-tying and winning goals. His seven goals and 15 points lead the NE10.


NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week

Kosta Maniatis, Franklin Pierce
Junior | Goalkeeper | Montreal, Quebec

Maniatis had a 2-0 overall record last week, earning the shutout over Southern New Hampshire. He made two saves on the week while a .667 save percentage, and allowed only one goal at Post for a 0.50 GAA. 


NE10 Rookie of the Week

NE10 Weekly Honor Roll 

Kevin Hernandez, Assumption (Sr., M - San Juan, P.R.)
Hernandez scored two goals in Assumption's 3-2 NE10 victory on Saturday night. The Skyhawks were ahead 1-0 when Hernandez netted both goals to give the Greyhounds a 2-1 lead at the half. He finished the week with eight total shots and six shots on goal.

Carlos Ferrando Felis, Franklin Pierce (Gr., D - Tavernes de la Valldigna, Spain)
Ferrando Felis tallied four points on two goals last week and registered three shots, including two shots on goal. He netted one goal each in the Ravens' two contests, including the game-winning goal versus Southern New Hampshire. At Post, Ferrando Felis recorded two shots with one on target, and against SNHU, had one shot that was on goal.

Josh Mahr, Le Moyne (Sr, GK - Fayetteville, N.Y.)
He registered five saves, including three in the first half, in a 3-1 victory at Adelphi University on Saturday evening.

Robert Rohrhirsch, Le Moyne (Sr, F - Garching bei Munchen, Germany)
He tallied his third game-winning goal of the season in the 53rd minute of 24th-ranked Le Moyne's 3-1 win at Adelphi on Saturday evening.

Miguel Diaz, St. Michael's (Sr., M - Madrid, Spain)
Senior Miguel Diaz (Madrid, Spain) scored both goals in a 2-1 overtime win against defending USCAA Division 1 national runner-up Maine-Fort Kent on Wednesday, including burying the 98th-minute winner. The Purple Knights lost at Southern Connecticut State, 3-0, on Saturday.

Ethan Fitzsimmons, St. Michael's (Fr., GK - Harvard, Mass.)
Freshman Ethan Fitzsimmons (Harvard, Mass.) made four saves in his college debut on Wednesday, backstopping the Purple Knights to a 2-1 overtime win against defending USCAA Division 1 national runner-up Maine-Fort Kent. The Bengals were undefeated through eight games, and entered the day averaging 4.1 goals.

Jackson Rivers, Southern N.H. (Sr., GK - Epping, N.H.)
Jackson Rivers stopped eight of the 10 shots he faced during a 1-1-0 week for the Penmen. Rivers did not see a shot in Wednesday's 4-0 blanking of Bridgeport and then made all eight of his saves in a 2-0 loss at third-ranked Franklin Pierce on Saturday.

Zach Elliot, Saint Anselm (Sr, F - Manchester, N.H.)
The senior opened the scoring against Bentley as he made a quick cut inside the 18-yard box and buried his right-footed shot into the lower left of the goal. That goal came in the 47th minute and he later added a second goal, which iced the match, on a free kick in the 90th minute.

Brian Underhill, Saint Anselm (Jr, GK - Westford, Mass.)
The junior goalkeeper made five saves on six shots on goal in the Hawks conference opening win over Bentley. Underhill made two key saves in the second half including a dive save to his left and a point blank save on a quick turn inside the six-yard box.

Jacob Woznicki, Stonehill (So, F - Bristol, Conn.)
Netted a pair of goals in a 1-1 week for the Skyhawks. He scored the match-winner in Wednesday's 2-1 victory over Felician and then followed that up with the opening goal 16-minutes into Saturday night's NE10 opener at Assumption.
