Saint Rose Claims Second Straight Coaching Staff of the Year Honor
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Following a pair of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships, the coaching staffs of Franklin Pierce men's soccer and Saint Rose women's soccer have been honored at the United Soccer Coaches East Region Coaching Staffs of the Year.
Franklin Pierce head coach Ruben Resendes and his staff led the Ravens to a 20-1-1 mark his season, along with a No. 1 national ranking and the program's first NE10 Championship since 2011. The Ravens are currently ranked fourth nationally and boast one of the stingiest defenses in the country as they gave up just nine goals this season.
Saint Rose head coach Laurie Darling Gutheil earns this honor with her staff for the second straight season following the program's second straight NE10 Title. The Golden Knights pushed their record to 16-1-4 and advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals on Thursday with a 3-0 victory over Mercy. The team is currently ranked eighth in the nation and have given up just eight goals this season.
