NE10 Player of the Week

Dakota Mulcay, Southern New Hampshire
Redshirt Junior | Catcher | Goffstown, N.H.

Mulcay got off to a blistering start to the season during a 4-0 week for the Penmen. Mulcay slashed .600/.647/1.600/2.247, as he went 6-for-10 with three home runs, a double, eight RBI, six runs scored and five walks. Mulcay had at least two hits, a home run and two RBI in each of the first three games of the year, going 6-for-7 with the four extra-base hits during that stretch.


NE10 Pitcher of the Week

Wesley Tobin, Southern New Hampshire
Graduate Student | Pitcher | Portsmouth, N.H.

Tobin was dominant in his first start of the season, hurling a two-hit, complete-game shutout, while striking out 11 and not walking a batter, in an 8-0, seven-inning victory at Stonehill on Saturday. Tobin retired the first eight batters he faced, then allowed back-to-back hits in the fourth inning, before finishing by setting down the final 12 he faced.


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Jared Duquette, Saint Michael's 
Freshman | Pitcher | Morrisonville, N.Y.

Duquette made his college debut with 5.1 shutout innings of Saint Anselm on Saturday, allowing four hits with two walks and five strikeouts on 69 pitches in relief. He posted a .211 opposing batting average against a Hawks' team ranked fifth in Division II in home runs, ninth in scoring and 14th in batting average.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Tyler Becker, Adelphi (Sr., SS - Manorville, N.Y.)
Entered the weekend's action with a .182 average...Boosted his average 76 points with a 4-for-9 day with two home runs, five RBIs and three runs scored...Those two homers came in the same inning of a 19-11 Game 1 win over Southern Connecticut...Accounted for the first run-scoring play of a 6-2 Game 2 win with an RBI single in the first inning...An eye-popping 1.222 slugging percentage in the two contests. 

Matt Costanza, American International (Sr., 2B/P -Revere, Mass.)
Costanza pitched three innings and picked up the win in relief in Saturday's extra inning win over Pace. In the winning effort, he gave up just one hit and struck out a pair.

Tim Zupkus, Bentley (So., OF - Middlebury, Conn.)
In a doubleheader split with No. 16 Franklin Pierce, Zupkus was 4-for-7 with three runs scored, three RBI and a double. He had a .667 on base percentage in the Falcons' first two games of 2021 and was directly involved in six of the team's 11 runs scored. He had a two-run single in a 5-4 game one victory and had three hits in game two. 

Jake Miller, Franklin Pierce (Jr., C - Waltham, Mass.)
Hit .750/.778/1.125 over eight at-bats (6-for-8) as the Ravens split a doubleheader at Bentley on Saturday. Hit three doubles, drove in five runs and stole a base. In the second game alone, went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and drove in four runs in a 13-6 win.

Matt Almonte, Pace (Sr., OF - New Rochelle, N.Y.)
Almonte finished a single short of the cycle in Pace's 13-5 triumph over AIC on Saturday. He opened the afternoon by hammering his second home run of the season--a two-run shot in the first inning. All in all, Almonte finished the doubleheader 4-for-9 with five RBIs, four runs scored and a walk. 

Ryan Schworer, Saint Anselm (Sr., P - Medfield, Mass.)
In his lone start on the week, Schworer earned the win with five strong innings against Saint Michael's on Saturday. Conceding just four hits, he fanned nine Purple Knights batters with the only damage coming on a solo shot.

Andrew Eng, Southern Connecticut (Jr., OF - Ridgewood, N.J.)
Andrew Eng - a transfer from Division I Binghamton - was 3-for-7 with a double, two home runs and a team-leading five RBI in his Owls' debut against Adelphi. Eng had two-run double and solo homer in the first game of the doubleheader with three RBI before connected for a two-run homer in the second game that accounted for both of the Owls' runs.

Jeffrey Praml, Southern New Hampshire (R-Jr., P - Bridgewater, N.J.)
Praml relinquished one run on five hits, while striking out seven and walking one, as he went the distance Thursday in a 3-1 seven-inning win at Stonehill. Praml extended his streak of not allowing an earned run - dating back to last season - to 26 consecutive innings before allowing a run in the final frame.
