Four NE10 Players Recognized, Overall.
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Franklin Pierce catcher Dylan Jones has been selected as a Second Team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), representing the Northeast-10 Conference after an outstanding senior campaign for the Ravens.
Earlier in the spring, Jones was selected as the NE10's Northeast Division Player of the Year, as well as a First Team selection for both All-Conference and NCBWA All-East Region. He can now add All-American to his growing list of honors.
Jones recorded a slash line of .381/.444/.672 in 134 at-bats, with an NE10-leading 16 doubles, one triple and seven home runs. He also accounted for 38 runs scored, 37 RBI and was a perfect 9-for-9 on stolen bases this season. Jones ranked second in the league in hits (51) and his .466 batting average in conference games was third-best.
Adelphi's Matt Alifano, Bentley's Ryan Berardino and Pace's Matt Almonte were recognized as Honorable Mentions when the NCBWA announced its All-America teams. Berardino was also named a Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Third Team All-American in the first week of June.
Alifano, Almonte and Berardino each earned First Team honors for both All-Conference and NCBWA All-East Region this season. All three tallied more than one vote on the NCBWA All-America ballot.
