NE10 Player of the Week

Ryan Berardino, Bentley
Graduate Student | First Base | Sudbury, Mass.

Berardino remained sizzling hot in seven games (2-5) with a slash line of .577/.581/.885. He had 15 hits in 26 at bats, with 13 RBI, 11 runs scored, two home runs, two doubles, two sacrifice flies and a 1.000 fielding percentage at first base. Berardino extended his hitting streak to 20, scored five times in a 17-3 win at Southern New Hampshire, had four hits twice and three or more RBI three times. During a four-game series at SNHU, he was 9-for-20 with 10 runs scored and 6 RBI. He finished the week as the conference's leader in batting (.487), RBI (26), hits (38), doubles (8), sacrifice flies (4) and total bases (56).


NE10 Pitcher of the Week

Dylan Bedder, Saint Anselm
Sophomore | Pitcher | New Providence, N.J.

Bedder threw eight strong innings against Saint Michael's, striking out 11 and conceding just three hits and no walks in the winning effort. Saint Anselm won the first game of the four-game set, 4-0. 


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Robert Taylor, New Haven
Sophomore (First Year Player) | Outfield | Wolcott, Conn.

The Chargers' outfielder started all six games in a 3-3 week, closing out with a .474 batting average, scattering a team-high nine hits and earning three walks while driving in a team-best eight runs. Among his nine base knocks were six extra-base hits, four doubles, a triple and a home run. Overall, Taylor split his nine hits across five of the six games last week, posting multiple hits in three of the six. He opened up the week with three hits combined across a Monday afternoon doubleheader at Saint Rose. In the first half of the four-game series against Southern Connecticut Taylor finished with a single hit in game two, however he drove in four of his eight runs in that game alone. On day two of the series, Taylor combined for four hits, including three, including a pair of doubles in the final game of the series.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Nicolas Luc, Adelphi (Sr., P - Farmingdale, N.Y.)
Threw 101 pitches and, at one point, faced the minimum over 17 consecutive batters and retired eight straight in a 13-1 Game 1 win over Saint Rose on Saturday (Apr. 24) ... Scattered only five hits and one run with five strikeouts in seven innings of work. 

Joe Kemlage, American International (Sr., P - Carver, Mass.)
Another start for Kemlage, another fantastic outing. This week Kemlage went 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 5.0 innings of work in a win over Le Moyne. In those five innings of work, Kemlage gave up just two hits, both singles, while striking out eight hitters. To go along with the strikeouts, Kemlage also recorded a putout and an assist.

Jack Choate, Assumption (So., P - North Grafton, Mass.)
Choate improved to 1-1 on the mound for Assumption, pitching 6.2 innings in a 3-2 victory at Bentley on Monday. He struck out nine batters and allowed just four hits and two runs scored (one earned).

Paul Frisoli, Bentley (Gr., P - Watertown, Mass.)
In a 1-0, 13-inning win at No. 11 Southern New Hampshire, Frisoli pitched nine shutout innings, allowing only two hits. He struck out four and walked the same number.

Seb Gruszecki, Franklin Pierce (Gr., P - Dudley, Mass.)
Started Saturday's second game against Stonehill. Went the distance on 97 pitches (69 strikes) in the seven-inning affair, allowed four runs (two earned) on seven hits, did not issue a walk and struck out eight. 

Dylan Jones, Franklin Pierce (Sr., C - Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.)
Hit .563/.563/1.000, for a 1.563 OPS over 16 at-bats (9-for-16) in a 3-1 week for the Ravens...Hit one double and a pair of home runs...Scored five times and drove in six...Went 2-for-3 with a double and a home run, scored twice and drove in three in Saturday's second game against Stonehill...In Sunday's first game against the Skyhawks, hit 3-for-4 with a solo home run.

Christian Aich, Pace (So., P - Sayreville, N.J.)
Aich improved to 4-0 this season with another solid outing on Saturday against Le Moyne. The right-hander allowed just one run across six innings, while tallying seven strikeouts. Aich now owns a team-best 1.72 ERA this season with 35 strikeouts in 31.1 innings of work. 

Andrew Primm, Pace (Jr., C - Massapequa Park, N.Y.)
Primm was red hot across three games for Pace last week. The junior catcher put together a 9-for-12 (.750) stretch with four RBIs and two runs scored. He registered three hits in each game, while also tallying at least one RBI in each contest. Primm is batting .385 in 39 at-bats this season. 

Mike Pierro, Saint Anselm (Jr., OF - North Andover, Mass.)
Pierro batted .500 this past week for Saint Anselm, slugging four home runs and swiping two bases in a well-rounded week for the Hawks. He had at least one home run in three out of the four games against Saint Michael's and had two on Apr. 23.  

Anthony Zambito, Southern Connecticut (Jr., OF - Ridgewood, N.J.)
In a four-game series split at Elm City rival New Haven, Zambito ran his team-best hitting streak to 11 games with a hit in each game. For the four-game set against New Haven, Zambito was 8-for-16 with four runs scored and three stolen bases while posting a team-best .579 on-base percentage. For the year, Zambito is hitting .480 (24-50) while leading the team with 15 runs scored and 13 stolen bases.

Wesley Tobin, Southern New Hampshire (Gr., P - Portsmouth, N.H.)
Tobin did all he could in Sunday's 1-0, 13-inning loss to Bentley, as he fired nine shutout innings, allowing just three hits, while striking out a career-high 15 and walking four. Tobin's scoreless innings streak now stands at 16-and-a-third.

John Orzechowski, Stonehill (Sr., OF - Monroe, Conn.)
Orzechowski led the Skyhawks in five games with seven RBI. The senior went 11-for-19 with five runs scored, three doubles, two home runs, and six stolen bases. Stonehill won two of their five games this week, including a non-conference victory against Bentley, 7-4, and Franklin Pierce, 12-9. The outfielder had no errors on nine putouts.
