Week 5 Baseball Winners

NE10 Player of the Week

Ryan Berardino, Bentley
Graduate Student | 1B/DH | Sudbury, Mass.

During a 6-0 week for the Falcons, Berardino had a slash line of .478/.519/.652 with 11 hits, seven RBI and five runs scored. His hit total included two doubles and one triple. Berardino, who owns a 10-game hitting streak, had multiple hits in four of the six contests, including three against Saint Anselm and two in three of the four games against St. Michael's. In Sunday's 11-2 win over the Purple Knights, he had three RBI.


NE10 Pitcher of the Week

Jeffrey Praml, Southern New Hampshire
Redshirt Junior | Pitcher | Bridgewater, N.J.

Praml went the distance in Friday's 7-0 game-two victory against Saint Anselm, as he tossed seven shutout innings, allowing just two hits, while striking out 11 and not walking a batter. Praml, who has allowed just one earned run over his last 33-and-a-third innings dating back to last season, retired the final 12 batters he faced, including eight via strikeout.


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Edward Beauregard, Jr., Stonehill
Sophomore (First Year Player) | 3B/P | Paxton, Mass.

Beauregard got the job done in the field, at the plate, and on the mound this week as he went 7-for-17 with a .412 batting average, to lead the team. The sophomore scored four runs and drove in two RBI, with his second double of the season. Beauregard tossed his first complete game (9.0 IP) on the mound, for his third win of his career. He struck out a career-best six batters, allowing five hits and two earned runs in a 7-2 victory over Assumption.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Cooper Johnson, Adelphi (Jr., OF - Newington, Conn.)
Delivered the decisive three-run homer that propelled the Panthers to a 7-4 win at New Haven last Monday (Apr. 5)...Gave a 3-for-4 showing out of the nine-hole with two runs scored. 

Joe Kemlage, American International (Sr., P - Carver, Mass.)
Kemlage pitched another gem this week as the Yellow Jackets faced Le Moyne. In 5.0 innings of work Kemlage struck out 11 hitters with only three walks while only giving up two earned runs for the week.

Cole Chudoba, Assumption (Sr., P - Oxford, Conn.)
Chudoba took the win on the mound in game one for Assumption at Stonehill on Saturday. He pitched six innings and struck out eight batters en route to a 9-2 final over the Skyhawks. Chudoba allowed just three hits and one run scored as he improved to 2-0 on the season.

Brendan Desautels, Assumption (Sr., P/OF - Holden, Mass.)
Desautels earned the win on the mound for Assumption in game two over Stonehill on Saturday. He pitched 6.1 innings for the Hounds and struck out nine batters. He allowed just seven hits and no runs scored in the 4-0 victory and improves to a 2-0 record on the season.

Evan Christopulos, Bentley (Sr., P - Andover, Mass.)
On Saturday, in a 5-2 7-inning victory over St. Michael's, Christopulos pitched a complete game for the Falcons. He scattered four hits, allowed just one earned run and struck out a career-best eight without a walk. The Purple Knights hit only .160 against his offerings. 

Liam Sears, Bentley (Jr., LF - Springfield, Mass.)
Sears was Bentley's leading hitter during a 6-0 week with nine hits in 18 at bats (.500). He scored seven runs, including three in an 18-4 win over St. Michael?s, and four RBI. His slugging percentage was .556 and, with five walks and four HBP, a sparkling .643 on base percentage. Fourth in the league in hitting, Sears owns a six-game hitting streak.

Nick Nevins, Le Moyne (Jr., INF - Poughkeepsie, N.Y.)
He slashed .462/.588/.769 in Le Moyne's 3-1 week with six runs, four doubles, four walks and three runs batted in. He went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and an RBI in a 10-4 win over American International on Tuesday. He was 2-for-2 with four runs scored, three walks and an RBI in an 18-7 win in the first game of a doubleheader with Saint Rose on Saturday. He added a double and a run scored in an 8-4 win in the nightcap.

Jack Drewry, Southern Connecticut (So., 1B/P - Wolcott, Conn.)
In a doubleheader sweep of Pace, Drewry was 5-for-7 (.714) with three RBI and two runs scored while also working a walk for .750 on-base percentage. In the first game of the twin bill against the Setters, an 8-4 win, Drewry was 2-for-4 with a RBI and a run scored. In the second game, he was 3-for-3 with a walk, two RBI and one run scored.

Nick Artymowicz, Southern New Hampshire (Gr., P - Seaville, N.J.)
Artymowicz allowed one run on six hits over six innings, while striking out 11 batters, in a 24-1 victory against Saint Anselm on Saturday in game two of a doubleheader. The 11 strikeouts matched his career high, which he set in his first outing of the season March 27 at Stonehill.

Sam Henrie, Southern New Hampshire (R-Jr., UT - Middleboro, Mass.)
Henrie hit .444 (4-9) with a home run, four RBI, four runs scored and three walks during a 4-0 week for the Penmen, while getting on base at a .583 clip and slugging .778. Henrie's home run was a three-run shot in the fifth inning of game one Saturday, which snapped a 3-3 tie in an eventual 7-4 win for SNHU. Henrie had at least one hit in three of the four contests and scored a run in each.

Dakota Mulcay, Southern New Hampshire (R-Jr., C - Goffstown, N.H.)
Mulcay slashed .385/.467/.769 during a 4-0 week for SNHU, as he was 5-for-13 with three extra-base hits, including a home run, six RBI and six runs scored. Mulcay had a pair of multi-hit games in the four-game sweep of Saint Anselm, including in a 24-1 game two win Saturday when he went 3-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and three runs scored.
