Daktronics Men’s Basketball All-East Region Teams Include Five Northeast-10 Student-Athletes

New Haven's Anderson, Saint Rose's Milka,
Southern Connecticut's Langston earn First Team honors

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Five Northeast-10 Conference student-athletes have been named to the 2013-14 Daktronics NCAA Division II Men's Basketball All-East Region Teams, it was announced on Thursday.

The All-Region teams are voted upon by sports information directors from institutions and conference offices throughout the East Region.

Southern Connecticut State University senior and Northeast-10 Player of the Year Greg Langston was named to the Daktronics First Team, as his Owls are set to host this year's NCAA East Regional as the No. 1 seed at the Moore Field House in New Haven, Conn., beginning with Saturday's quarterfinals.

University of New Haven junior and Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Year Eric Anderson was also a First Team choice, as the Chargers enter regional action as the No. 2 seed on Saturday.

The College of Saint Rose senior Dominykas Milka also garnered a First Team selection, while Franklin Pierce University senior Ellis Cooper and So. Connecticut junior Tylon Smith collected Second Team honors.

Langston is averaging 20.2 points and 6.5 rebounds for the No. 4 nationally ranked Owls, who defeated crosstown rival New Haven last Sunday in the Northeast-10 title game.

Anderson has posted per-game marks of 15.9 points and 11.7 rebounds for New Haven, which fortified the No. 2 seed at the regional after advancing to the Northeast-10 Championship game.

Milka, a 2014 Northeast-10 First Team pick, finished with 20.7 points and 12.4 rebounds for the Golden Knights and was recently featured in a video installment of 'I am the Northeast-10.'

Cooper is averaging 18.2 points and 8.1 rebounds for the Ravens, who received the No. 4 seed at the upcoming regional.

Smith (pictured) is averaging 18.3 points, 5.9 boards and 4.8 assists this, while shooting 55.4 percent for the Owls.

The Northeast-10 Conference is an association of 15 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that is committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for more than 6,000 student-athletes. Each year, 4,000 of those student-athletes compete in conference championships in 23 sports, making the NE-10 the largest DII conference in the country in terms of sport sponsorship.
