Southern Connecticut's Langston Named Daktronics Men's Basketball All-America Third Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Senior Greg Langston of the Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team has been named to the 2014 Daktronics All-America team for his efforts in helping the Owls during a record-setting campaign. The 2014 Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year was also named a National Assocation of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II All-American as well.

Langston becomes just the fourth player in program history to earn All-America laurels. He joins Bobby Gonzalez (1981-82), Jerrit Lewis (1987-88) and T.J. Trimboli (2000-01). 

Langston tops the 2014 Northeast-10 and NCAA East Regional hampions in scoring, currently averaging 19.8 points per game. The senior scored more than 20 points in 19 games this season and is also averaging 6.5 rebounds per contest, which is second on the club.

By virtue of his efforts this year, Langston is now the third leading scorer in program history with 1,871 career points and its eighth leading rebounder with 624 boards.

So. Connecticut has set a school record for wins this year (30-2) heading into action against No. 20 Central Missouri in the Elite Eight on Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. EST. It marks the Owls' second Elite Eight appearance in program history.
