Saint Anselm and Southern Connecticut Earn Top Seeds Heading Into NE-10 Men's Basketball Championship

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - Saint Anselm College and Southern Connecticut State University will be the top seeds in the upcoming 2014 Northeast-10 Conference Men's Basketball Championship, which begins Friday night with first-round action. 

All games of the championship will be hosted by the higher seed of the two teams remaining.

So. Connecticut, currently ranked sixth in the country, earned the top seed in the Southwest Division after finishing the Northeast-10 portion of their schedule with a mark of 18-2, while Saint Anselm earn the top seed in the Northeast Division with a mark of 17-4.

The 2014 Championship will commence Friday night with two first-round games, as The College of Saint Rose, the fourth seed in the Southwest, will play host to Bentley University, the fifth seed in the Northeast, while Southern New Hampshire University (Northeast No. 4 seed) plays host to American International College (Southwest No. 5 seed).

The quarterfinal round will take place on Sunday with four matchups, which includes So. Connecticut hosting the American Int'l-So. New Hampshire winner and Saint Anselm welcoming the Bentley-Saint Rose winner.

The semifinals will be held Wednesday, March 5 at 7:00 p.m., with the title game to be held Saturday, March 8 at 1:00 p.m.

Game 2: #5 NE Bentley at #4 SW Saint Rose – 7:00 p.m. 

Sunday, March 2 - Quarterfinals
Game 3: Winner Game No. 1 at #1 SW So. Connecticut – 3:00 p.m.
Game 4: Winner Game No. 2 at #1 NE Saint Anselm – 3:00 p.m.
Game 5: #3 NE Saint Michael's at #2 SW New Haven – 4:00 p.m.^
