NE10 Swimmers of the Week

Connor Quirbach, Saint Michael's 
Sophomore l Lowell, Mass.

Quirbach won four times in a pair of meets over the weekend, going 3-for-3 in individual races. On Saturday against Clarkson, he captured the 500 freestyle and 1,000 freestyle while swimming for runner-up 200 freestyle and 200 medley relays. Quirbach won the 100 freestyle while anchoring the top 200 medley relay in a 120.5-113.5 victory over Norwich on Sunday, adding a third-place 1,000 freestyle showing.

Margaret Wilk, Saint Michael's
Junior l Hardyston, N.J.

Wilk went 7-for-7 in a pair of team victories over the weekend. In a win against Clarkson on Saturday, Wilk took the 200 backstroke and 400 IM races, led off for the top 200 medley relay, and anchored the winning 200 freestyle. During a triumph over Norwich on Sunday, she won the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke while anchoring the 200 freestyle relay to victory by just 0.13 seconds.


NE10 Relay of the Week

400yd Medley Relay, Assumption

The grouping of Elizabeth Galicki, Savina Villani, Giulia Faulkner, and Jenna Swist won the 400yd Medley Relay with a time of 3:43.95. The quartet won the relay by 15.42 seconds.

200yd Freestyle Relay, Saint Michael's

With their team trailing 109.5-107.5 heading into the final event on Sunday at Norwich, the Purple Knights' 200 freestyle relay quartet of sophomore Ryan McCaffrey, freshman JJ Kane, freshman Hunter Cook, and junior Will Englehardt won with a time of 1:31.32 - beating a Cadet foursome by 0.26 seconds - to clinch Saint Michael's the meet victory, 120-5-113.5.


NE10 Diver of the Week

Owen Angkatavanich, Bentley
Sophomore | Guilford, Conn. 

Angkatavanich won both diving events in a Bentley win over Brandeis. 

Hilla Almog, Bentley
Junior | Wayland, Mass.

Almog won both of the 1 meter diving events with a score of 267 in the six dives and 176 in the five dives.


NE10 Rookies of the Week 

John Zhang, Bentley
Freshman l Flushing, N.Y.

Zhang continued the impressive start to his career with three more individual wins against Brandeis. He won the 100 and 200 breaststroke and 200 IM. His 200 IM time of 1:57.85 was a season best. Zhang also helped Bentley's 200 medley relay team touch first.

Savina Villani, Assumption 
Freshman l Shrewsbury, M.A.

Villani won every event that she competed in on Sunday against Stonehill. She won the 50yd Breaststroke, 100yd IM, and was a part of the Women's 400 yd Medley Relay, and the 400 yd Freestyle Relay. Villani capped off her day by setting the pool record in the 100yd IM, besting the previous record by two seconds.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Ryan Kakimseit, Adelphi (Fr., New York, NY)
Kakimseit swam the top time in the NE10 in the 50 back over the weekend, clocking in at 24.02 seconds, helping the team to wins over Delhi and Mount Saint Mary. Additionally his 51.00 performance in the 100 butterfly also stands as the best time this season in the specialty.

Savina Villani, Assumption University (Fr., - Shrewsbury, Mass.)
Villani won every event that she competed in on Sunday against Stonehill. She won the 50yd Breaststroke, 100yd IM, and was a part of the Women's 400 yd Medley Relay, and the 400 yd Freestyle Relay. Villani capped off her day by setting the pool record in the 100yd IM, besting the previous record by two seconds.

Emma Hapkiewicz, Bentley (Sr., South Windsor, Conn.)
Hapkiewicz won the 1000 and 500 free swims to stay unbeaten in those races this season. She also swam the 200 backstroke for the first time this season and was victorious with a time of 2:13.98. That was a team season best so far.

Skyla Lang, Bentley (Fr,  Roseville, CA)
Lang won three races in Bentley's 174-117 victory over Brandeis. She first took the 100 breast stroke and followed that up with a win in the 200 breast stroke. She then finished her night by touching first in the 200 IM.

Ayden Walsh, Saint Michael's College (Fr., Tallahassee, Fla)
Walsh won all six events she entered during a 2-0 weekend. During a win over Clarkson on Saturday, she took the 200 butterfly (1:04.06), 100 freestyle (57.38) and 200 freestyle (2:03.26) races. In a win at Norwich on Sunday, Walsh captured the 100 butterfly and 100 IM events while aiding the victorious 200 medley.
