NE10 Swimmers of the Week

Connor Quirbach, Saint Michael's 
Sophomore l Lowell, Mass.

Quirbach went 7-for-7 with three top times in the NE10 this season while helping the Purple Knights win the North Country Invitational over the weekend. He captured the 200 freestyle (1:43.27), 500 freestyle (4:48.30) and 1,650 freestyle (17:34.49), with each time the best in the league this season. His 1,000 freestyle split (10:03.83) was a school record and was faster than the top time recorded by any NE10 swimmer thus far this winter. Quirbach anchored the 400 freestyle relay (3:10.60) and 400 medley relay (3:33.32), both of which set school records while taking second and third, respectively, among all quartets in the league this season. He also led off for the 200 freestyle relay (1:26.53), which ranks second in the NE10, and anchored the 200 medley relay (1:36.23), which sits third.

Margaret Wilk, Saint Michael's
Junior l Hardyston, N.J.

Wilk won all seven of her events to help the Purple Knights capture the North Country Invitational title over the weekend. She anchored the 200 freestyle relay (1:42.71) and aided the 400 freestyle relay (3:44.62), both of which recorded the second-best times in the NE10 this winter, while leading off for the 200 medley relay (1:43.18) and 400 medley relay (4:09.94). The 400 medley posted the league's fourth-best time, which Wilk also turned during the 200 IM (2:17.93). She also took the 100 backstroke (1:03.24) and 200 backstroke (2:16.83) crowns.


NE10 Diver of the Week

Owen Angkatavanich, Bentley
Sophomore | Guilford, Conn. 

Angkatavanich won both of the diving events at Keene State. He took the 1 meter with a score of 168.30 and in the 3 meter in 151.72

Hilla Almog, Bentley
Junior | Wayland, Mass.

Almog won both the 1 and 3 meter dives in Bentley's victory at Keene State. She had a score of 265.42 in the 1 meter and 252.52 in the 3 meter.


NE10 Rookies of the Week 

Delroy Tyrrell, Saint Rose
Freshman l Trincity, Trinidad and Tobago

Tyrrell won the 100-meter and 200-meter backstrokes with respective times of 51.47 and 1:55.52 at Staten Island this weekend. He was also a member of four winning relay teams for the Golden Knights (200 free, 400 free, 200 medley, and 400 medley).

Hannah Steen, Saint Michael's 
Freshman l Portsmouth, R.I.

Steen earned five wins among her seven top-five showings in helping Saint Michael's win the North Country Invitational over the weekend. She won the 50 freestyle (25.87) and 100 butterfly (1:01.79) while swimming for the top 200 freestyle relay (1:42.71), 400 freestyle relay (3:44.62) and 200 medley relay (1:54.18). Steen also anchored the third-place 400 medley relay (4:19.71) and took fifth in the 200 butterfly (2:33.36). Four of her times were good for top six in the NE10 this winter.


NE10 Relay of the Week

200 Freestyle Relay, Saint Rose

The Saint Rose quartet of Delroy Tyrrell, Aldemar Alikavazovic, Fabrizio Infante, and James Henriques posted the fastest 200 free relay time in the NE10 on Saturday, with their mark of 1:24.60, also setting program record for the Golden Knights.

200yd Medley Relay, College of Staten Island

Edna Melendez, Jessica Johnson, Aurelia Barbagallo, and Katherine Ebrahim posted a time of 1:53.63 in the 200 Yard Medley Relay to take first place at the CSI Invite. That time was the best in the conference this week and set a new CSI program record.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Jake Chee-A-Tow, Adelphi (Fr., St. George, Barbados)
In the 200 yard butterfly, newcomer Jake Chee-A-Tow won the race in a time of 1:56.14 for a personal best, which moves into the top spot among NE10 competition by over three seconds.

Cooper Rivers , Adelphi (Jr., Lake Elsinore, Calif.)
Rivers won the 200 freestyle and placed second in the 200 IM at the USMMA Memorial Invite - while swimming the third leg of the 200 medley relay to help the quartet place second. His 200 IM time of 1:56:63 is the best in the NE10 thus far this season.

Bella Montanari , Bentley (Fr., Interlaken, N.J.)
Montanari won both the 100 fly in 1:01.44 and the 100 breast stroke in 1:10.12 in Bentley's 159-127 victory over Keene State.

Jessica Johnson, College of Staten Island (Jr., Staten Island, NY)
Johnson posted the best time in the NE-10 in both the 50 Free and 100 Free this week taking first place in the latter at the CSI Invite. Her time of 24.80 in the 50 Free was a new CSI program record and she also ranked in the top 3 in the conference in both the 50 Breast and 100 Breast this week.

Edna Melendez, College of Staten Island (Fr., Cambrils, Spain)
Melendez posted the best time in the conference in the 50 Back and 200 Back this week. At the CSI Invite, she took first and broke CSI program records in both events. She also posted a top-three time in the conference in the 100-Back and took first in the event at the CSI Invite.

Jenna Pearse, Pace (Graduate Student, Johannesburg, South Africa)
Pearse turned in strong performances at the USMMA Invitational. Pearse posted a first place finish in the 200 yard buttlerfly with a time of 2:14.20. She also sixth in the 50 yard freestyle (26.18), second the 200 yard freestyle (1:59.53) and served a leg of the 400 yard freestyle team that took first.

Rafael Kowal, Saint Michael's College(So., Plattsburgh, N.Y.)
Kowal turned in two top times in the NE10 this season and set four school records while winning six events over the weekend and helping deliver a North Country Invitational title. He won the 100 backstroke (53.94), 200 backstroke (1:53.37) and 400 IM (4:09.74), setting school records in the latter two while clocking in with the best time in the NE10 in both. Kowal led off for the top 400 medley relay (3:33.32) while also helping the 200 medley relay (1:36.23) and 400 freestyle relay (3:10.60) squads to victory. The 400 free squad had the second-best time in the league, while the medleys both posted third-fastest times. The pair of 400 foursomes set school records, while Kowal's 100 backstroke leadoff split in the 400 medley was the fourth-quickest in the NE10. He also led off for a seventh-place 200 freestyle relay (1:32.14) team.

James Henriques, Saint Rose (Jr., Middletown, N.Y.)
Henriques claimed victories in the 50-meter freestyle (20.83 seconds) and 100-meter butterfly (51.74), in addition to earning a runner-up result in the 100-meter freestyle (47.45) at the CSI Invite this past weekend. Henriques also helped the Golden Knights win the 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle, 200 medley, and 400 medley relays.

Natalie Herl, Saint Rose (Fr., Lincoln, Calif.)
Herl registered the win in the 200-meter butterfly (2:12.42) this past weekend at Staten Island. Herl also touched the wall second in a pair of distance events, as she was barely edged in the 400 IM (4:59.78) and 500 freestyle (5:29.71).

Jasmine Uricchio, So. Conn. State University (So., - Enfield, Conn.)
In a 162-132 win at WPI, Jasmine Uricchio won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:14.95, then followed with a win in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:10.81. She also finished second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.57 and was part of the 400 Medley Relay team that finished second with a time of 4:04.74.
