Bentley, Southern Connecticut Selected Atop Swimming Polls

Swimming Polls

MANSFIELD, Mass. - The Bentley University women and the Southern Connecticut State University men were both selected to win this week's respective NE10 Swimming & Diving Championships, as chosen by a vote of the league's coaches.  Bentley following through on that prediction would mark the first championship in program history.  A win for the SCSU men would be their third straight, and 16th in 20 years.

Southern Connecticut and Assumption, the only two women's teams to ever capture the NE10 crown, were picked second and third behind Bentley.  The Falcons have been the runners-up in four of the last five Championship meets and took home both Swimmer and Diver of the Meet after last season's event.

Adelphi, notably, was selected to finish runner-up on the men's side.  Second place would mark the best finish in school history for the Panthers, led by junior captain Cooper Rivers and rookie Ryan Kakimseit this season.  The Panthers' best prior finish was fourth last season.
