Courtney Dincecco

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dincecco Coached Four Seasons at Ave Maria.

WORCESTER, Mass. – Following an extensive national search, Assumption University Director of Athletics Christine Lowthert Ed.D. is excited to announce Courtney Dincecco as the head women's lacrosse coach.

"We are thrilled to welcome Courtney to the Assumption Greyhound family," said Lowthert. "Courtney brings a wealth of knowledge in women's lacrosse and will take the program to new heights both on and off the field. Her emphasis on the holistic development of student-athletes – whether in the classroom, on the field or in preparation for life after lacrosse - will be a great asset for the team and the University."

Dincecco comes to Assumption following a position as the Coordinator of Academic Success Programs at Wichita State University. Prior to her time at Wichita State University, Dincecco served as the head women's lacrosse coach at Ave Maria University for four seasons (2015-19). In her first year at Ave Maria, Dincecco led the Gyrenes to a 5-8 record and was named the NWLL South Region Coach of the Year as well as the NAIA Independent Conference Coach of the Year. In her second season at the helm she led Ave Maria to their first NAIA National Tournament Appearance.

"I would like to thank Christine Lowthert, Director of Athletics, and the search committee for the opportunity to serve as the next Head Women's Lacrosse Coach," said Dincecco. I felt an instant connection to the campus community, Assumption's mission and the Athletic Department's values. I am excited to be a part of the Women's Lacrosse family and the future of the program as a premier team in the NE10 Conference. I look forward to continue to build upon the team's success and hard work both on and off the field."

Prior to Ave Maria, Dincecco took over the Manhantanville lacrosse program in August 2012 after serving as the assistant coach for one season. Under her leadership, she coached nine All-Freedom Conference selections.

In addition to her head coaching experience at Ave Maria and Manhatanville, Dincecco also spent one season as the assistant women's lacrosse coach at Stonybrook University (2010-2011). She served as the defensive coordinator and the goalie coach for the Valiants. Dincecco has also been involved in women's lacrosse at the club and youth levels with Legacy Lacrosse LLC, Scarsdale Youth Lacrosse and Oak Neck Athletics.

Dincecco served as a member of the IWLCA Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Planning Committee in 2018. The committee is responsible for planning and organizing the annual IWLCA meeting in Orlando, Fla. which hosts over 400 coaches. She served as the NAIA Women's Lacrosse Executive Committee Secretary from 2017 to 2019. In this role she oversaw the Hall of Fame subcommittee and drafted legislative proposals for the NAIA legislation committee. She also participated on the All-American Selection Committee.

Dincecco is a 2010 graduate of Loyola University in Maryland where she was a four-year letterwinner for the Greyhounds. As a netminder for Loyola, Dincecco was selected as a captain both her junior and senior seasons and was part of the Greyhounds' Big East Tournament semifinalist team her senior year.

A native of Bayville, N.Y., Dincecco earned her bachelor's degree in communications and business at Loyola. She later went on to receive her master's degree in Sports Business Management from Manhattanville College.
