NE10 Player of the Week
Cristian Mercedes, Southern New Hampshire
Junior | Third Base | Providence, R.I.
Mercedes went 9-for-15 (.600) with seven extra-base hits, including five home runs, 12 RBI, seven runs scored and a pair of walks during a 4-0 week for the Penmen. He slashed .647/1.733/2.380 and made 10 errorless plays in the field. Mercedes homered in all four games and had multiple hits in three of them. His top performance came in a 23-2 game-two victory Saturday when he went 4-for-4 with two home runs, seven RBI, three runs scored and a double.
NE10 Pitcher of the Week
Josh Roberge, Southern New Hampshire
Graduate | Pitcher | Chelmsford, Mass.
Roberge collected the win in Friday's 4-1 victory against Saint Michael's in game two with a seven-inning, complete game. Roberge allowed one run on seven hits, while striking out a career-high 15 and walking three.
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Adam Sullivan, Le Moyne
Freshman | Infield | Syracuse, N.Y.
Sullivan slashed .400/.438/.667 with seven runs batted in and three runs scored in Le Moyne's four-game sweep of Pace. He went 2-for-5 with a double and four RBI in a 7-3 win in the series opener. He followed by going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in an 8-2 win in the nightcap. After having a single and scoring a run in a 3-1 win on Saturday, he had a double, RBI and scored the winning run in a 6-1 win in the series finale.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Brendan Edvardsen, American Int'l (So., OF - Norwalk, Conn.)
Edvardsen had an incredible week for AIC, going 9-for-17 including four extra-base hits for a slash line of .529/.609/.882. Among his key hits were a game-tying three-run home run in the third game of AIC's series with Saint Anselm, helping the Yellow Jackets to win the series, and a 4-for-4 showing in the series opener. He also completed all 13 defensive chances in center field.
Liam Sears, Bentley (Gr., 1B-DH - Springfield, Mass.)
In a 2-2 week, Sears had a .400/.500/.667 slash line with four runs scored, five RBI, a double and a home run. He was 2-for-4 with two RBI in a 12-5 win at AIC and 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBI in a 12-9 victory at Adelphi. In addition, Sears handled 16 chances at first with only one error.
Hunter Reynolds, Franklin Pierce (Jr., RHP - Marlborough, Mass.)
Reynolds pitched in game one of a Saturday doubleheader against Assumption, where he tossed a complete-game shutout no runs allowed on four opponent hits, three walks and nine strikeouts. The Raven junior's performance also averaged 11.57 strikeouts per nine innings.
Max Parker, Le Moyne (Jr., P - Manlius, N.Y.)
Parker tossed a complete game with five strikeouts, while scattering nine hits, in Le Moyne's 7-3 nine-inning victory at Pace on Friday.
Thomas Eletto, New Haven (Gr., OF/RHP - Locust Valley, N.Y.)
In his only appearance last week, Eletto threw a six-inning shutout against Saint Thomas Aquinas as part of a doubleheader against the Spartans. Overall, he surrendered just three hits while striking out five batters and did not give up a walk.
Robert Taylor, New Haven (Sr., OF - Wolcott, Conn.)
Taylor finished a three-game, all non-conference, week hitting .667, with six hits in nine at bats, including two extra base hits with a double and a triple. He opened up the week going 4-of-5 against the Spartans in a midweek battle, with one of those hits a triple, while he drove in two runs. He also added an RBI in the front end of a Saturday doubleheader.
Zack Clough, Saint Anselm (Jr., OF - Newbury, Mass.)
Clough slashed .429/.529/.857 in the four-game with American International, totaling six hits in 14 at-bats. The junior scored belted two home runs, his firsts of the season in the 13-2 win, one of which was a grand slam. In the series, Clough drove in eight runs and scored three while working two walks.
Jared Reminder, Saint Anselm (So., P - Warwick, R.I.)
Reminder fanned four batters over 8.1 innings of work at American International in the fourth and final game of the series. Reminder allowed two runs on eight hits in his first collegiate win.
Chad Fedeli, Southern Connecticut (So., IF/RHP - Monroe, Conn.)
Fedeli led the Owls to a doubleheader sweep of Saint Rose, going 4-for-6 with three RBI and two runs scored with a stolen base in a two games played this week. In the first game, Fedeli was 2-for-3 with a walk and a RBI. In the second game, he was 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored as well as a stolen base.
Nick Guarino, Southern Connecticut (Sr., LHP - New Haven, Conn.)
The Owls' lefty picked up a win in his only start of the week. Guarino held Saint Rose to one run over six innings pitched. Guarino blanked Saint Rose for the first five innings of the game before giving up a run in his final inning of work. Guarino struck out four to improve to a NE10 leading 8-1 on the year.
