NE10 Player of the Week

Amanda Parker, Bentley
Graduate | Outside Hitter/Setter | St. Charles, Ill. 

During Bentley's season-opening 4-0 weekend during the Hoffman Memorial Tournament, Parker recorded the Northeast-10's first triple-double since 2018 and averaged 2.54 kills, 4.54 assists, 2.69 digs, 0.77 blocks, 0.62 aces and 3.58 points. In 13 sets (all but one a win), she totaled 33 kills, 59 assists, 35 digs, 10 blocks, eight aces and 46.5 points while hitting .309. In a 3-1 win over defending NE10 champion American International, Parker stuffed the stat sheet with a career-best 15 kills, 24 assists, 14 digs, four blocks (including a match-ender), three aces, 20.5 points and a .324 hitting percentage. The double-double was the first by a Falcon since 2003.

NE10 Libero of the Week

Jamie Yonker, Adelphi
Graduate | Defensive Specialist | Old Bethpage, N.Y.

The defending NE10 Libero of the Year kicked off the 2022 campaign with 6.13 digs per set, helping Adelphi pick up two regional wins in a 2-2 weekend. Yonker nearly eclipsed the century mark with 98 digs over 16 sets and added 23 assists (1.44 per set) and three service aces. In a five set loss to the University of Charleston, she put up a new career-best 40 digs.

NE10 Setter of the Week

Naomi Eckert, American International
Junior | Setter | Toa Baja, Puerto Rico

The reigning NE10 Setter of the Year racked up an NE10-best 149 assists (10.64/set) during the Sandy Hoffman Memorial Invitational, and contributed well beyond that, landing six kills, five aces, four blocks, and 31 digs to help AIC start the season 3-1.

NE10 Rookie of the Week

Ava Kidd, Saint Anselm
Freshman | Middle Blocker | Walton, Ky.

Kidd is tied for the Hawks' lead with 33 kills. She opened the season with a team-high 10 kills, good for a .833 hitting percentage. Kidd added 10 kills against Roberts Wesleyan on 13 swings for a .769 hitting percentage. Kidd closed the week with a .580 hitting percentage and averaged 3.00 kills per set while being responsible for 37.0 points in an undefeated 5-0 week for Saint Anselm. 

NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Brenna Valsted, Adelphi (Sr., S - Louisville, Kent.)
In two games for Adelphi, Brenna Valsted collected 73 assists (9.13 per set) while adding 13 digs over eight sets. Her 42 assists against Bridgport falls just shy of her career-best (47) as she notched her first double-double of the year with 10 digs.

Aleksandra Ivanovic, American Int'l (So., MB - Belgrade, Serbia)
Ivanovic was brilliant for AIC in the Sandy Hoffman Memorial Tournament. She racked up 45 kills in four matches, playing all 14 sets, and committed just six errors to hit a blistering .506.

Annaka Lindstrom, Franklin Pierce (Fr., S - Dudley, Mass.)
As a freshman newcomer, Lindstrom compiled a total of 115 assists across four matches, with an average 8.85 assists per set. Additionally, Lindstrom added 14 kills with a trio of service aces, as well as 22 digs.

Morgan Schmutzler, Franklin Pierce (Jr., L - Lockport, Ill.)
Schmutzler started in all four matches for the Ravens this past weekend, delivering a team high 49 digs with an average of 3.77 digs per set, as well as 5 service aces. In a single match versus Goldey-Beacom on Aug. 27, the junior libero registered a team season-best 17 digs, while going three matches with a minimum of 10 each.

Macy Brown, New Haven (So., OH - Cadilac, Mich.)
The sophomore led all New Haven hitters across four matches on opening weekend with 59 kills and 71 points total. Brown finished all four matches with double-figure kills and added double-digit digs in the first three for a hat trick of double-doubles to open the year. She set her season-high for the year at 17 kills against Charleston while surpassing 20 digs in that match to finish with 21 total. For the week. she hit .244, taking a team-high 160 attacks. Brown also added nine service aces and three blocks. 

Caroline Belmontez, Saint Anselm (Sr., DS - San Diego, Calif.)
Belmontez leads Saint Anselm with 62 digs in a 5-0 opening week for the Hawks. The senior co-captain is averaging 4.43 digs per set. In the transition game, Belmontez added 16 assists for Saint Anselm.

Michelle Henwood, Saint Anselm (Sr., S - Guaynabo, Puerto Rico)
Henwood collected 102 assists for the Hawks in the 5-0 opening week, good for an average of 10.20 per set. The senior co-captain added 10 kills and 25 digs through the first five matches. Henwood opened the season with 32 assists before adding 29 helpers to close the week against Kutztown.

Gabriela Gaibur, Southern Conn. St. (Sr., OH - Monroe, N.Y.)
Gaibur had a solid start to the 2022 season. Through all four games for the Owls, averaged 4.0 k/s and amassed 56 total kills, averaged 2.86 d/s, and tallied 40 total digs. She also chipped in five service aces, recorded double-digit kills in all four games, and picked up her first double-double of the season with a 17-kill, 21-dig performance against Assumption. 

Sara Montefameglio, Southern N.H. (Sr., S - Turin, Italy)
Montefameglio registered 99 assists (8.25 a/s), nine aces (0.75 sa/s) and 24 digs (2.00 d/s) during a 4-0 week for the Penmen. Montefameglio dished 35 assists to go with four aces and eight digs in Friday's 3-0 win over Kutztown and then came back the same day in a three-set win against Roberts Wesleyan and tallied 29 assists, five aces and seven digs. 

Juliana Pacini, Southern N.H. (Sr., OH - Sao Paulo, Brazil)
Pacini amassed 39 kills (3.25 k/s), four aces (0.33 sa/s), 21 digs (1.75 d/s) and two blocks (0.17 b/s) for the Penmen, who began the season 4-0 for the first time since 2009. Pacini reached double figures in kills in three matches and hit .405 for the week.
