Week 10 - April 25, 2022

NE10 Player of the Week

Zoie Iverson, Pace
Senior | Utility | Stirling, N.J.

Iverson led the Setters' offense during a 5-3 stretch last week. The senior infielder batted .522 with three doubles and four RBIs to go along with a .577 on-base percentage. Iverson had at least two hits in four of the games and reached base safely in every contest. She was 5-for-7 in a doubleheader split against Caldwell and 3-for-5 against Adelphi in a split.


NE10 Pitcher of the Week

Lindsey Hibbs, Adelphi
Sophomore | Pitcher | Brampton, Ontario

Lindsey Hibbs made four appearances with four starts inside the circle and claimed three wins. She pitched 24.2 innings and struck out 47 batters, including 14 in a one-hitter against AIC and 14 more with just two hits allowed in a 2-1 win over Felician. For the week she had a 0.28 ERA with 47 strikeouts, two walks and eight hits allowed.

NE10 Rookie of the Week

Gisselle Garcia, Pace
Freshman | Pitcher | Lemon Grove, Calif.

Garcia posted two of the best back-to-back performances in the country this week. The right-hander tossed Pace's first no-hitter since 2002 in a 1-0 win over New Haven on Wednesday. She finished that victory with 10 strikeouts. Garcia followed with 12 more strikeouts in a two-hit shutout of Adelphi on Saturday. She is now slotted second in both ERA (1.28) and strikeouts (173) across 137 innings pitched this season.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll  

Erin Barry, Assumption (Sr., P - Braintree, Mass.)
Erin Barry helped Assumption post a 5-3 record this past week by winning two of her three starts and recording a 1.62 earned run average. The only game she lost was a 2-1 decision in eight innings at Saint Anselm on Sunday. She struck out six and allowed 20 hits in 21.2 innings of work.

Kylee Amato, Bentley (So., OF - Bergenfield, N.J.)
During a 5-3 week, Amato hit an even .500 with her 14 hits including two doubles and a triple. She drove in seven and scored four times. Amato hit safely in all eight games and had a pair of three-hit games (Pace, New Haven) and three RBI in the opener against Pace.

Sabrina Gonzalez, Franklin Pierce (So., P - Chandler, Ariz.)
Gonzalez started three out of four games from the circle this past week, posting a 3-1 record with 21.2 total innings pitched. Across that span, the sophomore allowed eight runs on 16 hits while sitting batters down with 17 total strikeouts, including a six strikeout performance in a Sunday matchup with Le Moyne. Over the past week, she finished with an ERA of 1.94.

Cassidy Barrett, Le Moyne (Sr, C - Apalachin, N.Y.)
She slashed .438/.609/.750 with a triple, a home run, six walks, five runs batted in and five runs scored in Le Moyne's 5-1 week. She went 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI and a run scored in an 8-0 win over American International on Thursday. She went 2-for-4 with an RBI in a 9-3 victory over the Yellow Jackets in the nightcap. She scored once in a 2-0 win over Saint Michael's in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader and then went 1-for-3 with a triple, a walk, an RBI and a run scored in a 3-1 win over the Purple Knights in the nightcap. After homering, driving in two and walking twice in a 5-2 setback to Franklin Pierce on Sunday, se went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in a 2-0 win in the nightcap.

Laura Bennett, Le Moyne (So, P - Corning, N.Y.)
She went 3-1 with two saves, a 1.71 earned run average and 45 strikeouts over 28.2 innings in Le Moyne's 5-1 week. She struck out 11 and allowed just four hits over six innings in an 8-0 6-inning win over American International on Thursday. She then struck out seven in a 9-3 win over the Yellow Jackets in the nightcap. She registered a career-high 14 strikeouts (the most by a Dolphin in eight years) and yielded just three hits in a 2-0 win at Saint Michael's on Saturday. She picked up the save in the nightcap after striking out four of the five batters she faced. She earned her third save of the season in the nightcap of a doubleheader at Franklin Pierce on Sunday, a 2-0 Le Moyne win, after striking out four over two hitless innings.

Kylie Fitzpatrick, Saint Anselm (Jr, 2B - Danville, N.H.)
Fitzpatrick reached base in all six games for Saint Anselm this past week, hitting .474 with nine hits in 19 at-bats with three doubles and five runs driven in. She had three hits at Franklin Pierce in game one on Wednesday before adding two RBI in a game two defeat. At home against American Int'l and Assumption this past weekend, she pounded five hits, including two doubles.

Haile Hicks, Saint Anselm (So, P - Jefferson, N.H.)
The NE10 leader in wins this season with 18, Hicks posted a 3-0 record this past week with a 1.35 earned-run average and 36 strikeouts in 26 innings of work. Against American Int'l on Saturday, she gave up a first inning home run and then settled down, striking out 11 batters in total in a one-hit effort. She pitched extra innings the next day against Assumption, earning a win with just three hits given up to the Greyhounds with another 11-strikeout performance.

Hannah Arruda, St. Michael's (Jr., 3B/RHP - Dartmouth, Mass.)
Junior Hannah Arruda (Dartmouth, Mass.) batted .500 with a .875 slugging percentage and .636 on-base percentage during a 2-2 weekend. She added a home run and three walks while also turning in a 2.10 ERA over 3.1 innings in the circle, yielding a .167 opponent batting average. Arruda was 2-for-2 with a walk in game two against Le Moyne on Saturday, a 3-1 loss, while also tossing 1.2 innings of two-hit, shutout ball in relief. Arruda was 1-for-3 in Sunday's opener with Saint Rose, a 4-3 win, before hitting a solo home run in her only at bat and walking twice in a 5-1 victory during game two. She allowed one run on no hits during 1.2 frames of relief in that contest.

Jackie Cherry, St. Michael's (Jr., RHP - Franklin, Mass.)
Junior Jackie Cherry (Franklin, Mass.) went 1-1 with a 1.31 ERA while appearing in all four games over the weekend, completing both of her starts. She allowed three earned runs in 16 innings with six strikeouts and two walks. In a 2-0 loss to Le Moyne on Saturday, Cherry allowed only one earned run on six hits in a complete-game effort, walking one and fanning three, before working an inning of relief in a 3-1 setback, allowing one run on two hits. On Sunday, Cherry allowed one earned run on five hits in a 4-3, complete-game victory, when she again struck out three and walked one. In the second contest, a 5-1 win, she worked the final inning, allowing two hits and no runs.

Madison Chandler, Saint Rose (So, IF/OF - Saratoga Springs, N.Y.)
Chandler finished the week with a .588 batting average, three runs scored, and a pair of RBI. In addition to going 10-for-17 at the plate, Chandler slugged .647 and registered an OBP of .600.

Jacqueline Dumont, Southern Conn. St. (Sr, C - Nashua, N.H.)
Dumont was steady for the Owls last week. She slashed a line of .476/.476/.667, while grabbing 10 hits including one home run and one double, five RBI and two runs scored.

Leine McKechnie, Southern N.H. (So, P - Passadumkeag, Maine)
Leine McKechnie went 3-1 with a 1.25 ERA for the week. She earned the win in the circle in three of the four games the Penmen won during the week. She allowed only five earned runs in 28.0 innings, with 22 strikeouts.

Kelly Mayette, Stonehill (Jr, P/INF - Glenville, N.Y.)
In each game last week Mayette pitched, she kept the Skyhawks within striking distance as she did not allow two or more runs in the inning. Mayette finished the week with an overall ERA of 1.04. In her win against American International College on April 20, Mayette tossed a complete game and fanned four batters while not allowing a run to score.
