NE10 Player of the Week

Gabriela Gaibur, Southern Connecticut
Junior | Outside Hitter | Monroe, N.Y.

Gaibur started and played in all four games for the Owls. In a 4-0 week, she tallied double-doubles in three-of-four of the matches. She amassed 48 kills (3.43 k/s), 48 digs (3.43 d/s), seven services aces, and four blocks. She currently leads the conference in total kills with 138.

NE10 Libero/Rookie of the Week

Morgan Schmutzler, Franklin Pierce
Sophomore (Freshman Eligibility) | Libero | Lockport, Ill. 

Schmutzler registered 68 digs across three matches at the SCSU Tri-Match, including a career-high 33 in the first match of a doubleheader against Post, and totaling 6.18 digs per set. She added a team-high 19 digs in the second match of the doubleheader, and a team best 16 at Southern Connecticut State. Schmutzler also tallied 11 assists on the weekend and two aces.

NE10 Setter of the Week

Kambel Fiser, Adelphi
Freshman | Setter | Seattle, Wash.

Fiser paced the Adelphi offense in a 3-0 week, averaging 11.25 assists per set with 90 overall. Additionally the freshman added 25 digs, five kills and four service aces to go along with seven block assists. In her best game of the week, Fiser put up her best numbers in a three-set win, with 45 assists (15 per set) while adding 2.67 digs per set in the victory. In a sweep of Bridgeport, she added 25 assists and five block assists to average 1.67 blocks per set as well.

NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Samantha Meehan, Adelphi (So. , OH - Pueblo, Colo.)
Meehan led the Panther attack in a 3-0 week, averaging 3.67 kills per set through nine sets, posting a team-best 33 kills. Against Bridgeport, the sophomore committed just one error while collecting 14 kills - good enough for a .500 hitting percentage. Additionally she added her second double-double of the season in a sweep of Wilmington (Del.) with 12 kills and 13 digs, averaging 4.33 digs per set in the win.

Amanda Rodriguez, American Int'l (Jr, LB - Miami, Fla.)
Rodriguez once again led the Yellow Jackets defensively as the team only dropped two sets the entire weekend. In the three matches she averaged 4.67 digs per set including an impressive 8.67 per set against Roberts Wesleyan. Additionally she chipped in 0.78 assists per set and two aces.

Amanda Parker, Bentley (Sr., S - St. Charles, Ill.)
In her only action of the week, Parker led Bentley to a 3-1 win at Shippensburg by filling the stat sheet with 39 assists, 15 digs, four blocks and four kills. She was one of four starters who didn't appear in a win over Queens. 

Mariah Robles, Franklin Pierce (Jr, RS - West Covina, Calif.)
Robles amassed 33 kills, 18 digs, six blocks and two aces on the weekend at the SCSU Tri-Match, and had a .247 hitting percentage. Against Felician, Robles tied for a team-high 10 kills, while also totaling nine digs, two blocks, two aces and leading the team in points with 13.5 in the match. Robles also recorded a team best 42 attacks and added 15 kills for a .262 hitting percentage in the win over Post, also tallying three blocks, six digs, and one assist.

Jessica Akiona, New Haven (Sr, RS - Kapolei, Hawaii)
One of two Chargers to earn All-Tournament honors at the Roberts Wesleyan Tournament this past weekend, Akiona led New Haven's hitting in a 3-1 weekend as she finished with a combined 45 kills and hit an impressive .355 across the four matches. In addition, she added six assists and 19 digs, while also leading the Chargers with eight total blocks. Akiona finished two of the four matches with a .500 hitting average or better, with her best outing coming against the host Roberts Wesleyan when she finished the three-set sweep with 13 kills, hitting .526 while adding three blocks. She also finished with double-figure kills against Stonehill and D'Youville.

Michelle Henwood, Saint Anselm (Jr, S - Guaynabo, Puerto Rico)
Henwood was credited with 57 assists in the two Hawks wins this week, including 37 against Mercy. She added 29 digs in the two matches and had five kills in the wins. The junior averaged 9.50 assists per set and 4.83 digs per set.

Taylor Jones, Southern Conn. St. (So, S - Middletown, N.Y.)
Jones continues to be an important piece of the Owls successes. She played in three of the Owls four matches in a 4-0 week. The sophomore setter collected 89 assists, including two 30-plus assists games and averaged 9.89 per set. She also tallied 29 digs, averaging 3.22 per set, and five service aces. Her best game of the week came as she picked up a double-double of 33 assists and 14 digs against Franklin Pierce. She currently leads the conference in assists per set with 10.0.

Juliana Pacini, Southern N.H. (Jr., OH - Sao Paulo, Brazil)
Pacini registered a double-double of 16 kills and 16 digs in SNHU's lone match of the week - a 3-2 victory against Mercy on Tuesday.

Abby Remick, Stonehill (Sr, OH - Chepachet, R.I.)
Remick was named to the All-Tournament first team at the Redhawks Invitational over the weekend as she averaged 3.23 kills, 0.15 service aces, 2.15 digs and 0.15 blocks per set as the Skyhawks went 3-1 for the week. She posted a double-double with 15 kills and 11 digs, along with two blocks in Stonehill's 3-1 win over New Haven. She contributed 11 kills, while hitting .409 with an ace and eight digs in a 3-0 win over D'Youville. Added 12 kills, nine digs and an ace against Daemen. 

Carly Russell, Stonehill (Sr, DS/L - Warrensburg, Mo.)
Russell averaged 5.08 digs and 0.58 service aces per set as the Skyhawks won three of four matches at the Redhawks Invitational over the weekend. She totaled 11 digs, five service aces and three assists in Friday's 3-0 win over D'Youville. Followed that up with 19 digs, three assists and an ace in Saturday's 3-1 win over New Haven. Recorded 31 digs, an assist and ace against Daemen.
