NE10 Player of the Week

Jessica Akiona, New Haven
Senior | Right Side | Kapolei, Hawaii

Akiona led New Haven's hitters in a 3-0 week with 44 kills, hitting .362 with just 10 errors in 94 total attempts. She also added 32 digs and was second on the team with seven total blocks. Akiona finished all three matches with double-figure kills, including a high for the week of 16 in a non-conference four-set win over Bridgeport. She also finished that match with 13 digs for her first of two double-doubles on the week, with the other against Georgian Court with 14 kills and 10 digs. She also finished the Georgian Court match with five total blocks..

NE10 Libero of the Week

Jazzy Burke, Bentley
Freshman | Defensive Specialist | Lake George, N.Y.

In a three-set sweep of Saint Anselm, Burke totaled 24 digs, an average of 8.0 per set, and had one ace in a rematch of the 2019 NE10 semifinals. 

NE10 Setter of the Week

Naomi Eckert-Rivera, American International
Sophomore | Setter | Toa Baja, P.R.

Eckert-Rivera helped the Yellow Jackets to a 2-0 week with wins over Southern Connecticut and Adelphi. On the week she averaged 10.38 assists per set including an impressive 14.33 aps against SCSU. Additionally she dug 28 balls (3.5 per set) and had three aces. 

NE10 Rookie of the Week

Ulrika Blomgren, American International
Freshman | Outside Hitter | Sollentuna, Sweden

Blomgren took advantage her first two career starts and helped the Yellow Jackets to a 2-0 week. In the two matches she had 27 kills (3.38 kills per set), 30 digs (3.75 digs per set), 28.5 points (3.6 per set) and swung .274 on 84 attempts with only four errors.

NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Amanda Rodriguez, American Int'l (Jr, LB - Miami, Fla.)
Rodriguez once again was a standout for the Yellow Jackets as they went 2-0. In two matches this week she recorded 42 digs (5.25 per set) and added four assists and four aces.

Kyra Belden, Assumption (Jr., S - Hollis, N.H.)
Belden led all players with 40 assists in Assumption's 3-0 NE10 victory over Le Moyne on Tuesday. She added four digs to help lift the Greyhounds to a 3-0 record in the conference.

Amanda Parker, Bentley (Sr., S - St. Charles, Ill.) 
Parker, in four sets during two conference wins, averaged 13.75 assists and 1.25 digs. She had 40 assists, four digs and two aces in a 3-0 win over Saint Anselm, and 15 assists while playing only the first set of a 3-0 victory at St. Michael's.

Ellie Wheeler, Bentley (So., OH/RS - Olathe, Kan.)
Wheeler averaged 5.33 kills, 1.5 digs and 5.6 points per set while hitting .250 in conference sweeps of Saint Anselm and Saint Michael's. She had a career-high 17 kills as Bentley took down the Hawks in the first meeting of the two teams since the 2019 NE10 semifinals, and followed that with 15 kills on .303 hitting at Saint Michael's. Wheeler leads the conference in kills, producing 3.76 per set. 

Sophia Leon-Tabor, New Haven (Fr., S - Fort Myers, Fla.)
Leon-Tabor led the Chargers to a 3-0 week, collecting 125 assists, an average of 11.36 per set across 11 total sets. She also finished the week with 24 digs. Leon-Tabor finished two of the three matches with 40+ assists, including a high for the week of 48 in a four-set win over Bridgeport. She also finished that match with her first of two doubles-doubles, closing out with a dozen digs. Her second double-double on the week came against Georgian Court with 42 assists and 10 digs.

Gabriela Gaibur, Southern Conn. St. (Jr, OH - Monroe, N.Y.)
Gaibur continued to be a bright spot for the Owls during a 1-1 week. She picked up a double-double of 10 kills (3.33 k/s) and 12 digs (4.0 d/s), and a service ace against AIC on Sept. 29. Against Le Moyne on Oct. 2, she picked up her seventh consecutive double-double with 13 kills (2.6 k/s) and 21 digs (4.21 d/s), and added two blocks.

Taylor Jones, Southern Conn. St. (So, S - Middletown, N.Y.)
Jones played all five sets in the Owls conference victory over Le Moyne. She averaged 10.40 assists per set and collected her second 50-plus assist game this season after finishing the match with 52 assists. She also notched her fourth double-double of the season with 11 digs, and added a block and a service ace. 

Deanne Wilson, Southern N.H. (Fr., DS - Buffalo, N.Y.)
Wilson totaled 29 digs (4.83 d/s) and seven assists (1.17 a/s) during a 1-1 week for the Penmen. Wilson registered 13 digs and four assists in a 3-0 win over Franklin Pierce on Wednesday and then collected 16 digs and three helpers in Saturday's 3-0 loss at Stonehill.

Abby Remick, Stonehill (Sr, OH - Chepachet, R.I.)
Led the Skyhawks to a 2-0 week, extending its win streak to five matches, by averaging 3.88 kills, 0.63 service aces, 2.13 digs and 0.38 blocks per set, while leading the team in scoring with 37.5 points for the week. She led Stonehill back from two sets down for a 3-2 triumph at Mercy on Tuesday with a double-double of 19 kills and 15 digs, with three aces and three block assists. She followed that up with 12 kills, with just three errors, and two aces in Saturday's three set sweep of Southern New Hampshire.

Lauren Wilke, Stonehill (Sr, S - Blue Point, N.Y.)
Wilke led the Skyhawks to a 2-0 week to extend their winning streak to five matches by averaging 10.63 assists, 2.25 digs and 0.63 blocks per set. Opened the week with a double-double effort of 49 assists and ten digs to lead Stonehill back from two sets down for a 3-2 win at Mercy, adding two kills and two solo blocks. Contributed 36 assists, eight digs, an ace and three block assists in Saturday's 3-0 win over Southern New Hampshire.
