11 NE10 Volleyball Student-Athletes Recognized.
MANSFIELD, Mass. – American International volleyball standout Andrea Serra-Rosa, the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year, was named the East Region Player of the Year by both the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).
Serra-Rosa highlights volleyball regional awards for NE10 programs, which produced 11 student-athletes combined from six different institutions on the AVCA and D2CCA All-East Regions Teams. Six of those student-athletes were recognized by both organizations.
Additionally, AIC volleyball head coach Matt Cribbin was tabbed as the AVCA East Region Coach of the Year, after leading the Yellow Jackets to their first NE10 title in 25 years. He joins Serra-Rosa as a major award winner.
Serra-Rosa and Adelphi's Jamie Yonker – the NE10 Libero of the Year - were named to the D2CCA All-East Region First Team. The Second Team consisted of AIC's Naomi Eckert-Rivera (NE10 Setter of the Year), Bentley's Ellie Wheeler (NE10 Rookie of the Year), New Haven's Jessica Akiona (NE10 Elite 24 Award) and Southern Connecticut's Abigail Epstein.
On the AVCA All-East Region Team – in addition to the six players on the D2CCA Team – are New Haven's Emily Barry, as well as Stonehill's Abby Remick and Carly Russell. AVCA Honorable Mentions are New Haven's Macy Brown and Sophia Leon-Tabor.

The AVCA, headquartered in Lexington, Ky., is managed by Associations International. The mission of the AVCA is to advance the sport of volleyball with AVCA coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy and professional development. With a membership of over 7,000 and counting, the AVCA provides a professional network for those individuals and companies dedicated to enhancing and promoting the sport.
The D2CCA encourages and promotes DII athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact DII intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA DII member colleges and universities.

The NE10 is an association of 14 diverse institutions serving student-athletes across 24 NCAA Division II sports. Together we build brilliant futures by embracing the journey of every student-athlete.
Each year, 4,500 of those student-athletes compete in conference championships in 24 sports, making the NE10 the largest DII conference in the country in terms of sport sponsorship.
