NE10 Player of the Week

Andrea Serra-Rosa, American International
Graduate | Outside Hitter | Toa Alta, P.R.

The reigning NE10 Player of the Year continued to dominate in a 2-0 week as the Yellow Jackets extended their winning streak to 17 and won the NE10 regular season title. On the week she averaged 4.29 kills per set with 2.0 digs per set. She tallied 16 kills (4.00 kills/set) and nine digs in a 3-1 win over Saint Anselm, while adding 14 kills (4.67 kills/set) in a three-set win against Southern New Hampshire. 

NE10 Libero of the Week

Emily Cockell, Pace
Senior | Libero | Springfield, Mo.

Cockell put together a terrific final stretch of matches for the Setters in a 1-1 week. The Missouri native racked up 57 digs across seven sets of action (8.14 digs/set). Following a career-high 40 digs at Queens, she registered 17 during Pace's triumph against Saint Michael's on Saturday. She also chipped in four aces and 13 assists in the two matches.

NE10 Setter of the Week

Sophia Leon-Tabor, New Haven
Freshman | Setter | Fort Myers, Fla.

Leon-Tabor finished a 1-1 week for the Chargers with 76 assists for an average of 10.86 per set, while also adding 28 digs for an average of 4.0 per set. She also added a kill, a service ace and a block. In a three-set sweep of Assumption, Leon-Tabor chopped in 41 assists and nine digs, while closing out the regular season with 35 assists and 19 digs against Bentley.

NE10 Rookie of the Week

Sophia Leon-Tabor, New Haven
Freshman | Setter | Fort Myers, Fla.

Leon-Tabor finished a 1-1 week for the Chargers with 76 assists for an average of 10.86 per set, while also adding 28 digs for an average of 4.0 per set. She also added a kill, a service ace and a block. In a three-set sweep of Assumption, Leon-Tabor chopped in 41 assists and nine digs, while closing out the regular season with 35 assists and 19 digs against Bentley.

NE10 Weekly Honor Roll 

Naomi Eckert-Rivera, American Int'l (So, S - Toa Baja, P.R.)
Eckert-Rivera continued to show how she is one of the best setters not only in the NE10 but also the nation. This week she helped AIC to its 17th consecutive win and the first regular season NE10 time in program history. She averaged 10.71 assists per set with 2.43 digs per set. Additionally she had two aces on the week and a block.

Barbara Illig, Assumption (Fr., L - Delaware, OH)
Illig recorded 49 digs in a 1-1 week for Assumption, averaging 6.13 digs per set. She posted 16 digs (5.33 digs/set) in a 3-0 loss to New Haven and 33 digs (6.60 digs/set) in a 3-2 win over Franklin Pierce to lead the Greyhounds on defense. 

Jazzy Burke, Bentley (Fr., DS - Lake George, N.Y.)
In a four-set win at New Haven that secured the fourth seed for the Falcons, Burke made 23 digs and also had four assists and two aces.

Ingrid Murphy, Bentley (Jr., OH/DS - Cotuit, Mass.)
Murphy helped Bentley secure home court for the first round of the conference championships with a 3-1 win at New Haven. She achieved a double-double with 14 kills and 19 digs, and also served four aces. The 2019 NE10 Rookie of the Year led the Falcons with 18 points and hit .211.

Tessa Brandt, Franklin Pierce (Jr., OH - Foster, R.I.)
Brandt averaged 3.50 kills, 3.9 points and 4.0 digs per set in an 0-2 week for the Ravens. She had three blocks (two solo) on the week as well. On Tuesday at Saint Anselm, Brandt tallied nine kills, nine digs and a block. On Saturday at Assumption, she went for 19 kills, 23 digs, two blocks and an ace. 

Morgan Schmutzler, Franklin Pierce (So., L - Lockport, Ill.)
Schmutzler averaged 5.50 digs per set in an 0-2 week for the Ravens. She went for 19 digs on Tuesday at Saint Anselm and came up with 25 more on Saturday at Assumption. She also dished out six assists on the week.

Jessica Akiona, New Haven (Sr, OH - Kapolei, Hawaii)
Akiona averaged 3.43 kills and 4.14 digs per set in a 1-1 week to end the regular season. She opened up the final week with 11 kills and 11 sigs in a three-set sweep of Assumption, hitting .286. In the regular season finale against Bentley, she dropped in 13 kills and 18 digs, to close out the week averaging a double-double. 

Michelle Henwood, Saint Anselm (Jr, S - Guaynabo, P.R.)
Henwood notched her 2,000th career assist in the Hawks' win over Adelphi to close out the regular season. The junior co-captain threw up 109 assists including 41 against American International. She averaged over 10 assists per set in the Franklin Pierce and AIC matches while averaged 9.25 against Adelphi. Henwood also added 31 digs and 14 kills for the Hawks.

Taylor Jones, Southern Conn. St. (So, S - Middletown, N.Y.)
Jones' consistent play helped the Owls to a 1-1 week and clinch the fifth seed in the postseason tournament. Through seven sets, she recorded 71 assists (10.14 per set), 24 digs, four blocks, and a service ace. She had a double-double of 25 assists and 12 digs against SNHU. Jones followed up that performance with another double-double of 46 assists and 12 digs, and added four blocks in the Owls win over Stonehill.

Lauren Wilke, Stonehill (Sr, S - Blue Point, N.Y.)
Wilke posted a double-double with 35 assists and 18 digs in the Skyhawks' lone match of the week at Southern Connecticut State on Saturday. Also chipped in with a block assist.
