FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bentley with League-High Four All-Conference Selections.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Bentley junior guard Zach Laput has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year, as the league office announced All-Conference honors on Monday afternoon. He becomes the first Bentley player since Jason Westrol (2009-10) to win the award.

Other major award winners include New Haven's Majur Majak, who repeats as NE10 Defensive Player of the Year, and Adelphi's Dayshaun Walton as NE10 Rookie of the Year. Southern New Hampshire's Jack Perri, who led the Penmen to an NE10 regular season championship, was voted NE10 Coach of the Year by his peers.

Bentley tallied a league-best four selections to All-Conference teams, which now includes an All-Defensive Team for the first time in league history. In addition to his Player of the Year award, Laput landed on First Team All-Conference to lead all Falcons' honorees.

New Haven, Southern Connecticut and Southern New Hampshire each had three selections to All-Conference teams. Saint Anselm was the only team to secure multiple First Team nods with Tyler Arbuckle and Miles Tention. Among the 13 NE10 programs, 10 teams had at least one All-Conference player.

For a complete list of honorees, please see below. All-Conference teams are not based on position and are voted on by the league's head coaches.

Laput is just the third player in Bentley history to win Player of the Year, following Westrol and Jim Ferrer (1988-89). He led all NE10 players in scoring this season with 20.3 points per game, including 19.9 points against conference opponents. Laput also averaged 6.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per contest. He ranks fifth in the league in shooting percentage (54.5) and tallied 17 games with 20 or more points during the regular season. He was a three-time NE10 Player of the Week selection in 2022-23.

Majak took a masterful defensive performance in 2021-22 and repeated it in 2022-23, earning himself a second-consecutive Defensive Player of the Year honor. He becomes only the fourth player in league history to win the award multiple times, with the most recent case being Le Moyne's Russell Sangster (2016-17, 2017-18). Majak – a 7-1 center for the Chargers – averaged a league-high 3.0 blocks and 11.3 rebounds per game. His trademark performance of the season was an 11-block outing in a win over rival Southern Connecticut on Jan. 14. Majak is also on the NE10 All-Defensive Team.

Walton had a sensational freshman campaign with the Panthers, ranking 13th in scoring (14.4 points per game) and sixth in rebounding (7.3 rebounds per game) to earn NE10 Rookie of the Year. Adelphi was led by the rookie tandem of Walton and Elijah Lewis this season – with both being honored on the All-Rookie Team. Walton won NE10 Rookie of the Week on four occasions this season. He becomes the first Adelphi player since Ronnie Silva – his current teammate – in 2018-19 to win the award.

Perri led SNHU to a remarkable season that saw it capture its first NE10 regular season title since 2016-17. The Penmen went 16-4 against conference opponents, which included a nine-game winning streak to end the season, on its way to earning the top seed in the NE10 Men's Basketball Championship. Perri follows in the footsteps of SNHU legend Stan Spirou, who is the last Penmen coach to earn the honor back in 2014-15.
