NE10 Announces Sport Excellence Award Winners from Winter Season

Six Different Institutions Represented.


MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference recognized seven outstanding student-athletes from the winter season as Sport Excellence Award winners on Thursday afternoon, honoring their remarkable achievements both athletically and academically. 

Among the 73 student-athletes named to the NE10 Academic All-Conference teams on Wednesday, the Sport Excellence Award is given to one top individual from each of the league's seven winter sports. Six different institutions were represented in the announcement, with only Southern Connecticut earning multiple honors. 

One of the Conference's most prestigious awards, the Sport Excellence Award was highlighted by Southern New Hampshire's Ashley Corcoran (women's indoor track & field) - the NE10 Championship's Most Valuable Athlete and Most Outstanding Track Performer - as well as Saint Michael's Marshall Murphy (ice hockey) - the NE10 Goaltender of the Year. 

Additional honorees are Adelphi's Ronnie Silva (men's basketball), Franklin Pierce's Connor Everidge (men's indoor track & field), New Haven's Camryn DeBose (women's basketball) and Southern Connecticut's Kobe Dominguez (men's swimming & diving) and Olivia Strelevitz (women's swimming & diving). 

Corcoran and Silva are both multi-time Sport Excellence Award winners. It is the fourth honor for Corcoran, who has two in indoor track & field, one in cross country and one in outdoor track & field. It is the second for Silva, who also won the award following the 2021-22 season. 

To be eligible for Academic All-Conference and Sport Excellence honors, a student-athlete must have started at least half or played in two-thirds of all contests while making significant contributions and maintaining a 3.3 grade-point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale.
