NE10 Offensive Player of the Week
Stephen Sturm, Bentley
Senior | Quarterback | Collegeville, Pa.
Sturm amassed 379 yards of total offense and accounted for four TDs as Bentley improved to 5-0 and extended its winning streak to 10 games with a 34-21 victory at Saint Anselm. Through the air, he was 23 of 35 for 307 yards and three TDs, with no sacks or interceptions. The TD passes covered 3, 21 and 7 yards. In addition, Sturm led the team in rushing with 72 yards and one TD (one yard) on 12 carries. He surpassed 6,000 career passing yards and set a career-best for season rushing yards (302). He also moved into a tie for sixth in program history in career TD passes (46).
NE10 Defensive/Special Teams Player of the Week
Kwadir Delgado-McIntyre, Southern Connecticut
Senior | Defensive Back | Hamden, Conn.
Delgado-McIntyre had a career game in the Owls' 23-7 win against American International at home. Delgado-McIntrye matched his career-best with two interceptions in the game. His first interception came late in the first half with the game tied, 7-7. He then picked off his second pass on the Owls' 23-yard line that haulted another Yellow Jackets drive. He also broke-up two more passes, both deep in the Owls' defensive zone, and returned two punts for a total of 60 yards, including a 31-yard return that was the longest of the season for the Owls.
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Drew Willoughby, Saint Anselm
Sophomore (Freshman Eligibility) | Quarterback | Austin, Texas
Against No. 24 Bentley, Willoughby threw for 456 yards in the game, pitching three touchdowns and completing 47 of his 73 passes on the afternoon in a 34-21 loss to the Falcons. Willoughby's 47 pass completions ties him for second place on the single-game list and his 456 yards thrown is the third-most by any Saint Anselm quarterback in team annals. Not including performances from this week that have yet to be logged on the NCAA Division II statistical website, Willoughby's 456 yards would be the third-most by a quarterback in the division this season.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Khaleed Exum-Strong, Assumption (Sr., RB - Norwichtown, Conn.)
Exum-Strong led Assumption offensively in a 35-28 OT win at Franklin Pierce. He posted 159 total offensive yards including 134 rushing and 25 receiving. Exum-Strong finished the game with 15 carries averaging 8.9 yards per carry, the longest being 42 yards, and scored one touchdown for the Greyhounds. He made two catches, averaging 12.5 yards per catch, and the longest being 18 yards.
Isaiah Huff, Assumption (RS-Jr., DB - Windsor, Conn.)
Huff led the Greyhounds on defense in a 35-28 overtime victory at Franklin Pierce on Saturday. He finished the game with 14 total tackles, 13 being solo tackles and one assist. He posted two tackles for a loss of six yards. Huff also finished with four kick returns for a total of 79 yards (26.3 yards per return).
Rene Nunez, Bentley (Fr., DB - Secaucus, N.J.)
In a 35-27 win at Saint Anselm that extended the Falcon winning streak to 10, Nunez had a career-high nine tackles as well as a fumble recovery on a goal line stand.
Bryce Macina, Franklin Pierce (Jr., QB - Syracuse, N.Y.)
Macina went 12-for-20 through the air for 171 yards and three touchdowns, good for a passing efficiency of 181.3. He also rushed 19 times for 52 yards and another score in a 35-28 overtime loss to Assumption.
Khyon Fitzpatrick, New Haven (Jr., DB - Union, N.J.)
Fitzpatrick led the Chargers defense with a career-high 12 tackles, six solo and six assisted, in a 28-14 win over Pace. Among his 12 total tackles were four tackles for loss, resulting in 17 yards lost and 1.5 sacks which totaled 11 yards lost. He also had one of two forced fumbles for New Haven.
Sean Kehley, Pace (So., QB - Manalapan, N.Y.)
Kehley supplied both of Pace's touchdowns, both on the ground, in his first career start on Saturday - a 28-14 loss to New Haven. He rushed into the end zone from four yards out in the first quarter before scampering in from the five-yard line in the second quarter. Kehley finished the afternoon with 43 total rushing yards, in addition to completing 17-of-20 passes for 178 yards.
Ahmad Brown, Saint Anselm (So, DB - Egg Harbor Township, N.J.)
Brown had a team-leading and career-high 13 tackles against No. 24-ranked Bentley on Saturday. Nine of those tackles were of the solo variety as well - he also logged one pass break-up on the day.
Anthony Brown, Saint Anselm (Jr, WR - Belton, Texas)
Against nationally-ranked Bentley on Saturday, Brown led the Hawks with 138 receiving yards on 11 catches while also reeling in a touchdown, giving him five touchdown receptions on the year. He also put up six kick returns and two punt returns on the day.
