NE10 Field Hockey Report: Week 6

Week 6 - October 11, 2021

NE10 Player of the Week

Mia Salah, Assumption
Freshman | Forward | Gloucester, Mass.

Salah scored six times and put up goals in all three games for the Greyhounds this week. She finished the week with one goal in a 5-1 win over Franklin Pierce on Wednesday before adding three goals in an 8-0 shutout at SCSU on Saturday and two goals at Franklin Pierce on Sunday. Salah finished the week with 12 points in the 3-0 week with a .786 shots on goal percentage. She is now leading the Greyhounds and is tied for first in the NE10 in goals scored with 11.


NE10 Defensive Player of the Week

Andrea Caradonna, Stonehill
Junior | Defense | Lynnfield, Mass.

Led a Skyhawks defense that yielded just one goal for a 0.50 team goals against average, while limiting the opposition to just 2.5 shots per match, including 1.5 shots per match on goal, and only two penalty corners for the week. The Stonehill defense held Molloy to just one shot and no corners in Saturday's 2-0 shutout win. The Skyhawks held Saint Michael's to four shots and two corners in Wednesday's 3-1 win.


NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week

Keira Integlia, New Haven
Graduate Student | Goalkeeper | Branford, Conn.

A graduate transfer goalkeeper for the Chargers, Integlia led New Haven to its fourth and fifth shutouts of the season, helping improve the Blue and Gold to 7-1 in the Northeast-10. Integlia opened up the week with eight saves in a 6-0 clean slate against Southern Connecticut before closing out the week with four more stops against Southern New Hampshire to protect a 2-0 shutout.


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Salah put up goals in all three games for the Greyhounds this week. She finished the week with one goal in a 5-1 win over Franklin Pierce on Wednesday before adding three goals in an 8-0 shutout at SCSU on Saturday and two goals at Franklin Pierce on Sunday. Salah finished the week with 12 points in the 3-0 week with a .786 shots on goal percentage. She is now leading the Greyhounds and is tied for first in the NE10 in goals scored on the season with 11.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

 
Kaylee Deleva, Adelphi (Sr., F - Sound Beach, N.Y.)
Kaylee tallied five goals during Adelphi's 3-0 week. She had back-to-back multi-goal games including a hat trick at Saint Michael's on Saturday.
 
Kylie Gargiulo, Assumption (Sr., GK - Madison, Conn.)
Gargiulo allowed just one goal scored in a 3-0 week for the Greyhounds. She made three saves in a 5-1 win over Franklin Pierce on Wednesday, one save in a 8-0 shutout at SCSU and three more saves in a 4-0 shutout at Franklin Pierce on Sunday. She finished the week with a .875 save percentage.
 
Kate Slowe, Bentley (Sr., F - Medfield, Mass.)
Slowe scored her second goal of the season with 5:38 remaining in the first overtime, giving Bentley a 3-2 win over Pace. The Falcons have now won six of their last eight games.
 
Lauren Viscione, Mercy (Sr., GK - Phillipsburg, N.J.)
Viscione allowed just four goals in two games this week with 21 saves. The senior allowed just two goals against STAC on Wednesday and had eight saves. The goalie ended the week with 13 saves and just two goals allowed against No. 8 Saint Anselm on Saturday. Viscione finished the week with an .840 save percentage and 1.93 goals against average.
 
Sophie Schreck, New Haven (Sr., F - Madison, Conn.)
A senior leader for the Chargers, Schreck helped lead the way to a 2-0 week with a pair of shutouts against Southern Connecticut and Southern New Hampshire with the two victories improving New Haven to 7-1 in the Northeast-10. Schreck finished with a pair of goals and an assist on the week with all five points coming in the win over rival SCSU. Among her two goals was the game-winning tally.
 
Krista Dietz, Pace (Fr., M/F - Mahopac, N.Y.)
Dietz continued her terrific freshman season during Pace's 1-1 stretch last week. The Westchester County native began with a hat trick in the Setters' 6-1 win over Molloy College. She then followed with another tally in the Blue and Gold's overtime defeat at Bentley on Friday. Dietz currently ranks second in the NE10 in scoring this season with nine goals.
 
Mackenzie McConnell, Saint Anselm (So, GK - Concord Township, Maine)
Across three games for Saint Anselm, Mackenzie McConnell posted two shutouts for the Saint Anselm field hockey team. In her team's narrow 2-1 loss to Adelphi to start the week, McConnell turned away 14 of the 15 shots that she faced in the game. 
 
Jenna Puleo, St. Michael's (Sr., F/M - Essex Junction, Vt.)
Senior Jenna Puleo potted three goals with an assist during a two-game week. In a 3-1 loss at No. 7 Stonehill on Wednesday, Puleo assisted a goal that drew the Purple Knights within one late in the first quarter before she posted a hat trick on just three shots in a 10-4 loss to Adelphi on Saturday.
 
Jessie Hohenstein, St. Thomas Aquinas (Sr, GK - Stroudsburg, Pa.)
Jessie Hohenstein picked up back-to-back wins over Mercy and American International last week, while posting a 0.48 goals against average and a .833 save percentage. Hohenstein also earned her first shutout of the season against AIC, having to make only a single save in the match.
 
Abigail Campbell, Stonehill (Sr, G - Norfolk, Mass.)
Posted a 0.50 goals against average with a save per game and a shutout in a 2-0 week for the No. 7-ranked Skyhawks. She made one save each in wins over Saint Michael's and Molloy, the latter a 2-0 shutout win.
