Assumption Honored as Coaching Staff of the Year After Record-Breaking Year
MANSFIELD, Mass. - The Assumption field hockey coaching staff was recently named the 2021 NFHCA East Region Coaching Staff of the Year, following a record-breaking season and the program's first trip to the NCAA National Semifinals.
Head Coach Annie Lahey along with assistant coaches Rylie Hammond and John Griffin led the Greyhounds to a 20-2 record in 2021, higlighted by the program's first Northeast-10 Championship and a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Championships. The team went on a 20-game win streak during the season, including an undefeated mark in conference play. Lahey was also named the NE10 Coach of The Year as the team allowed the fewest goals in conference play (eight) while ranking second in the NE10 in scoring at 3.7 goals per game.
